Can't find certain Bible versions and books in my library on iPad - they don't seem to transfer
Hello!
I was able to easily install the iPad app and get Logos up on my iPad. However, I cannot find several Bible versions on it such as the NIV and TNIV to be able to read and have in my library on my iPad.
It is missing whole commentaries too that did not transfer to iPad in the Library list. I am not talking about downloading them to the iPad for off-line viewing. I am talking about not being able to see them at all in the Library list on the iPad, but they do show in the Logos on my laptop. (MacBook Pro).
I also seem to be defaulting in the Bible reading plan and it immediately goes to the Hebrew Bible: Anderson Forbes and not an English version. Perhaps it is because my primary Bible on my laptop is the TNIV? And that is not showing up in the iPad. But it immediately goes to a Hebrew Bible for Bible reading in the iPad.
I uninstalled it on the iPad, checked back on my laptop and all looks fine there and everything working OK and all library and Bible translations showing up. But then after reinstalling the app on iPad, my library there is missing the NIV, TNIV and other commentaries too.
Any input on what to do?
Thank you!
Dan

Hi Dan
Currently neither the NIV or TNIV are available on the iPAD platform (licencing issues I believe).
There is a hint that this may change at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/26909/200637.aspx#200637
To see which platforms are supported for a particular resource have a look at the product page:
For NIV, TNIV - http://www.logos.com/product/5058/zondervan-niv-bibles-bundle-niv-tniv-and-nirv you can see that it is only available for Windows and Mac
The ESV, for example, is supported on the iPhone as shown below:
I'm sure this is not the answer you are looking for - and there are other posts on this forum where people are looking for the NIV and other resources to be sorted - but hopefully it explains some of what is going on.
From all the indications we have, Logos are working very hard to get as many resources as possible supported on the various platforms they support.

Thanks Graham! That's a bummer that when you buy the NIV or TNIV for your laptop that it doesn't carry over usage to an iPad. Hope they get it worked out as the NIV is the main version I use and need it on the iPad to make use there and read.
Thanks so much for your input!

Dan,
The implication from Dave's comments in this forum post seem to indicate that NIV is coming...

So, I don't have an iPad/Phone, but I see that the NIV is available on biblia.com. That's weird that it's available there, but not on the iPhone. That means Android users of biblia.com have it better than the iPhone users, no?

An interesting observation. I've been under the impression that the two were (at least mostly) consistent. What is available on Biblia is also available on ipad/iphone. Hmmm...

So you could at least access it via Biblia.com if you have wifi and/or 3G on the iPad. I've actually found this easier for cut/paste functions as it is not (yet) developed for the app.

Thanks again for further input! I primarily would like to read the NIV on my iPad from Logos. But as I shared and learned it isn't available to read on your iPad from Logos. I found that there are other apps who do have NIV and you can read it on your iPad through them. But wish Logos had it as I am trying to stick with Logos for Daily Bible reading, but NIV is the version I read.

Strange. I also have a competitor's product on my iPhone, iPad and Windows machine. The NIV 2011 is available across all three platforms. In fact everything I purchased for Windows is available on my iDevices in the competitor product.

Fred - First, welcome to the forums! Sorry you are disappointed. The NIV issue is debated here very often. I am sure that others will chime in to give you their perspectives which disagree with mine. However, we know from Bob Pritchett (founder of Logos) that the issue resides with the copyright holders not extending our licenses to our mobile devices. Other organizations/competitors have different agreements with Zondervan. Bob has also said that negotiations are ongoing, but I would not hold my breath for a quick resolution. If one comes, we will all rejoice. [:)]
