Syntax Search with Bible Study Library & SESB

Hi everyone!
I purchased the Bibly Study Library a couple of days ago and just noticed that Syntax Search is missing in the Search field, so I suppose there's no such feature coming along with the Bibly Study Library, right? Now, I've been using the SESB (German Bible Society edition) along with Libronix 3.0, and there I had the possibility to use Syntax Search. So my second question would be: does anyone have information on whether the Syntax feature of the SESB hasn't been implemented in Logos 4 yet - or are there users of the SESB (either the edition from the German Bible Society or the edition which is provided by Logos) out there who have access to Syntax Search in Logos 4?
Thanks for your help!
Tobias

Logos 4 Syntax search for SESB is currently under development by the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft:
see Mr. Hartmann's reply:
"Wir überlegen allerdings ein Update der SESB auf die Programmbasis Logos 4, um die SESB 3 mit Logos 4 kompatibel zu machen. Das wird aber voraussichtlich ein reines Funktions-/Programmupdate sein. Die Benutzeroberfläche wird dann auch auf Deutsch nutzbar sein."

Thanks for the info David! Somehow weird to write in English with a fellow German ... ;-) Just wasn't sure whether the update of SESB included Syntax Search or not.
Any information on whether it is normal that the Syntax Search isn't implemented in the Bible Study Library?

Syntax Search only comes with Original Languages and higher; http://www.logos.com/upgrade (look at the bottom of the list).

Thanks for letting me know - I didn't notice this feature's in the comparing list! Since I have the SESB, I guess I will be able to use Syntax Search in Logos 4 as soon as the German Bible Society releases the next version of the SESB. Besides that, I wonder why there's no possibility to upgrade from Bible Study Library to Original Languages - the next step (besides the Leader's Library) would be the Scholar's Library, which is far more expensive (regarding retail price). I might have to ask the Logos staff whether there's a chance to upgrade by a reasonable price.

I'm fairly certain I read in a thread a month or two ago that someone had indeed upgraded from one of the lower packages to OLL. Try a little persuasion! And ask about Syntax Search at the same time. If you had it in L3 I would assume you should have it in L4 as well. But maybe not if you only had it through SESB.
And don't forget that the 20% discount ends in a week!

The OLL is considered to be an entry-level package by the website so one cannot go from the Bible Study to the OL. However, contact sales and they should be able to get you a custom upgrade price. They've done it for other users in the past.

Thanks for helping! I'll contact sales, but I guess I'll have to wait for a while. Buying the Bible Study Library was pretty much what I could afford right now. ;-) And maybe the new SESB version won't take too long.

Tobias as far as I know, and I think my information is accurate THERE IS NO SESB SYNTAX SEARCH IN LOGOS 4 yet. If you move to the OLL you get AF syntax search not WIVU with all the problems associated with AF. I am quite certain that the SESB Logos 4 patch will enable the syntax search in SESB 3. After all Talstra's Database (and ERDMOS) is one of the main reasons people buy SESB. So I suggest you put on pressure on the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft to muster strength and complete the development of the patch.

Thanks for the reply David!
I've already contacted the German Bible Society and hope they will push completing the update.

Sorry, I should've added a "-speaking" to the "German"! :-) Add least I guess you speak German, since you quoted Mr. Hartmann!?

Yes you guess right. You probably know the old joke:
If you study the Old Testament academically you need to be well versed in at least one language: German! :-)
