cannot stretch the first column
Does anyone know how to stretch first column? I can stretch all columns except the first one. Thanks

I presume you're talking about the docked tool area on the left side of the layout. This isn't normally resizable (by design) but you can drag any of those tools by the tab at the top over into one of the middle areas, and then it becomes resizeable, even after you drag it back to the left.

I just explained to you how you can make it resizable. Did that not make sense to you? Or did it not work for you? See the tutorial videos on Layouts from Logos and Mark Barnes for a visual demonstration of how to do this.
