BUG? - Where are my missing resources

Hi, just completed 3 IFD's (Internet-free days) and got back to find out that B7 was crashing too often and B8 is crashing for much the same reasons! So I should avoid opening OpenText GNT or doing any syntax searches with Syntax Graphs in particular. Oops  - just crashed after opening Clause Visualizer when the other 2 OpenText were OK! Oh well, that means any Syntax Search is useless. They all look rather sparse without any Covers in Library!

Oh, and what happened to missing resources? I was expecting many Targums to invade my Library before gleefully hiding them forever!

Hi did you post these crashes into the Post-Install Crashes sub-forum? Please post each crash separately with logs.

Update: These issues should be fixed in an upcoming beta, and as for your missing resources, do you have LDLS3? Try scanning your LDLS3 resource folder, Logos4 only downloads Logos4 resources, it does not download LDLS3 resources yet.

    Dave,

Thanks for all of your feedback throughout the betas, particularly with the Syntax Search features.

There is an issue with opening clause visualizer resources that should be fixed in an upcoming release. You may be able to work around it in the mean time by turning off sympathetic highlighting before opening the clause visualizer resources.

So I should avoid opening OpenText GNT or doing any syntax searches with Syntax Graphs in particular.

    ...

Oh well, that means any Syntax Search is useless.

Can you be more specific about the issues with syntax searching? Are you technically unable to run syntax searches? Are you getting a message indicating that the feature has been disabled? Or are you indicating that searches are practically useless if you're unable to open the companion clause visualizer resources?

The only Syntax Search database you should avoid is the one labeled Lexham Syntax Graphs of the Greek New Testament. It's been replaced by the Cascadia Syntax Graphs of the New Testament (same data, less confusing name). The OpenText syntax database should be largely unchanged. The databases used for querying are distinct from the Clause Visualizer resources, so syntax searches should still function even if the clause visualizer is missing.

I don't think any of us testers have the Cascadia resource yet.

I've seen reports that some/all don't have the clause visualizer resources, but I've had at least one person indicate that they've seen the syntax database. They're distinct resources and the syntax databases don't show up in "My Library". They only show up in the resource selectors on the Syntax tab of the search panel and in the resource selector in the Syntax Search document (accessible from the "File" menu).

Do you have neither the clause visualizer nor the syntax database?

Oh nevermind.  I do have the syntax db, just not the visualizer.  (That's confusing too, when they are both called the same thing).

I had the strong impression in discussions about the hiding feature that missing L3 resources would be downloaded by the impending Beta7 - obviously an incorrect impression!  I was able to load the "missing" Targums + LBLA95, but the hide feature is really agricultural. With no feedback as to what I had dragged from Library it is easy to miss or repeat a resource.

I was indicating they are practically useless. With your workaround I still have to remember to make changes to 4 or 5 bible resources.

The databases used for querying are distinct from the Clause Visualizer resources, so syntax searches should still function even if the clause visualizer is missing.

If the clause visualiser is missing there is no point to a Syntax search as it is the only resource that is linked to the results.
