thanks, I ran to the website right after posting and saw the info on the mobile products ... now it's a waiting game...[Y]

That is great!!!  I am a Droid user and can't wait to have an app!

DEBORAH!  I DID see this just a few days ago and this is so exciting!  I thought this was sorta' inevitable since Android is becoming to Apple & smartphones what Windows was to Apple and personal computers (comparing Apples to Apples ;o)

I'm hoping to get on your "A" list for Beta testing if/when you guys need a few extra 'droid phones for that. It would be very cool to be a part of that since my FIRST version of Logos was CDWord... written for the ole' Windows 2.0...

Then I had to turn right around and upgrade because Windows 3.11 was such a radical leap forward for Windows you guys had to nearly start over (as I'm sure you have many times since then). That was what... 1988, 1989?!

Anyway, it's nice to be a part of something from CDWord to Android...  "...but my word shall never pass away..."

Thank-you for all you guys have done and ARE doing in His name.

    God bless,

    Ray

    Deborah,

Thanks for the update. I've never used Logos before but I've seen so many positive comments about it. I will surely subscribe once the Android version is available.

I will surely buy an Android once the Android version is available. [:)]

I'm with you Rosie.   In fact my wife and I are both due for new phones (way past due) but I'm waiting for the freshest hardware I can spare.  :-)

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I would love to use Logos in Android devices, too.  I hope that Logos will work with offline resources stored on SD card - that would mean with ALL resources at once.

Some cheap Android-based devices coming from China are using Android 1.5.  Does anybody has any information on lowest version of Android that Logos will support?  And any information on offline resources usage?

I'm pretty excited about this (though it's 99% sure - Lord willing - that I'll get an iPad for reading Logos resources as soon as the 2nd gen iPads come out).

Come Aug 2011, all of my AT&T mobile phone contracts expire (5 in our family). At that point I'm going to make a decision about carrier, plan, and especially what phone I'm going to get for myself. Be great to have Logos on Android as an option to consider.

    This is great news !

Android will soon overtake iphone by 2011.

I can also run Andoid on my HTC HD2 win mobile phone, thanks to the developers at xda-developers.com.

Can hardly wait for Logos to release this app.

Any new update on ETA ?

I can hardly wait for this app.  Android is doing a great job of getting great phones and apps to people, those other companies have made a mistake and Android took advantage of it!  I am glad to see Logos is coming on board, this will make a huge difference to me.

Android = a fragmented platform along the lowest common denominator lines of Windows led by a company who stole Apple's ideas in the first place and which doesn't really care about innovation as such, rather making sure that they lock as many people as possible into their platform which is only there to support their advertising kingdom.

"I want to know all God's thoughts; the rest are just details." - Albert Einstein

Android= meeting the needs of many Americans now, and growing quicker than many thought possible.

All companies are out to come out on top in the exchange with the consumer that includes Apple and Android.  Let's admit both companies have positive and negative points.  Right now Android is winning more people over to their side than Apple...people believe they are getting a better deal with Android, so they are buying Android, in my case I got four Android phones valued at about 1900 dollars for free...actually they paid me 140.00 to take them.  The result is I have entered into a world of quick access to my online resources and I am happy!  If  Apple would do this for me, I would be happy to use their products.  Instead, I am stuck with this "terrible" Android platform that I can give up when ever I want to!

    In Christ,

in my case I got four Android phones valued at about 1900 dollars for free...actually they paid me 140.00 to take them.

Nothing is free. People being swayed by Google & Android should seriously consider what it is they are getting into and the the company behind it.

Do you know the children's story 'Hansel and Gretel'? Two poor and hungry children come upon a tempting house made of gingerbread and sugar with the promise of more "free goodies" [mobile phones even] inside. However they then discover that the house is inhabited by a wicked witch who plans to eat them. That's Google.

Consider and follow the money trail... 99% of Google's revenue is based on advertising and learning, and exploiting to their gain, every possible thing it can about you. To Google you have no right of privacy — they have said so in as many words.

Apple's revenue comes primarily from sales of hardware/software platforms that if people didn't like the product they would not buy.

Who is going to make the best product?

Am I saying that Apple is a 'saint'? Nope, Romans 3:23 says otherwise. But certainly Google does not deserve the hypocritical epithet they say of themselves "don't be evil", it should be "don't get caught being evil".

"I want to know all God's thoughts; the rest are just details." - Albert Einstein

Childerns story or what has happened?  I have only had the Android since Oct. but so far no witch has showed up and I have been able to have online access that I would have never had with Apple, because I could not afford it with them.

I am not stuck with Android, I can walk away any time and spend my money with Apple, but right now I am happy with Android, so who is meeting my needs for the best value to me?

You speak as if everything you have said is a fact, but the truth is we are still in the fight to see who offers the best services for the least cost to the most consumers and right now the Android market is picking up speed, but you have no need to fear, you are happy with Apple, stay there and enjoy them, I will do the same with Android, until I am not happy with their product.

    In Christ,

    Jim

An allegory is designed to illustrate a point, which I believe you understand — the point I am saying here is that you say that Android is 'better' because:

Right now Android is winning more people over to their side than Apple...people believe they are getting a better deal with Android, so they are buying Android, in my case I got four Android phones valued at about 1900 dollars for free...actually they paid me 140.00 to take them.

and I am making the point that:

    a) nothing is free, you got those phones for nothing but somebody (you and many others) actually paid for them by the respective companies passing the costs of the phones onto them — without their consent. Is that an ethical (or dare I say it... Christian) business practice? So after stealing many of the ideas and intellectual property from Apple for their product they (Google) are following a well used tactic of Microsoft of 'giving away' product to get market share (kill the competitor).

    b) Google is not the sweet little old lady handing out free sweets to all and sundry that they portray themselves as. Do you have any inkling of the depth of information that they are building up on everyone, including you, without people's consent? And the worst of it is they totally believe they have the right to do so.

I'm not against some good and healthy competition, but as we see going back all the way to Cain and Abel, rarely is competition carried on cleanly.

If I believe (and anyone can confirm themselves) that Google does not follow it's own principle of 'don't be evil' I am not going to say they are good just because they give away some mobile phones.

Bias warning: personally only have iPad; looking forward to iPad 2 - anticipating Logos improvements, including notes and highlighting.

Looking at smartphone marketshare in Oct 2010 http://go-digital.net/blog/2010/12/android-makes-huge-gains-in-us-smartphone-marketshare-rim-takes-a-backseat-apple-leads-in-desirability/ noticed Android is # 3 (behind # 2 Apple and # 1 Blackberry) - looking forward to marketshare update in few weeks.

Should be an interesting year - reading some rumors about a Verizon iPhone (perhaps in February) + Oracle's lawsuit about Android infringement.

Am aware Google does not pre-approve Android applications - bigger opportunity for nasty surprises: e.g. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9202778/Android_mobile_malware_has_botnet_like_traits (albeit several iPhone applications phone home information without consumer approval).

Sheesh, talk about going off-topic. All I was saying was "has anyone heard about Logos for Android?" Although when brand loyalty crashes head-on with conspiracy theory it does make for entertaining reading.

Where did Apple get the code for their OS? Many of the
features in the Mac and Android OSs were part of Linux (another fragmented
platform) first. I think that it is great that Logos are looking to expand the
number of operating systems it software runs on.  As a Mac user I would have thought you would have
been more understanding as Logos was only available on windows.  I Thank God that the Logos are willing to
include more users on more platforms, praise God.

Think Verizon! Great customer service, robust, and more. I am a happy customer for 14 years.

There was another encouraging update this weekend from Dan...

Android fans rejoice! We made great progress on Logos for Android this week! Can't wait to ship this thing!
