BUG: Crash every time I try to delete a mytag

Tagging all my new resources, I quickly came to realize that a couple of my mytags had too long names, and that an abbreviation would be better. Not being able to find an easy way to change all at once (please put that on your to-do-list!), I then added a new abbreviated tag to the first group, and set about to delete the old longer one resource by resource. That would have been annoyingly slow if it had worked, but it didn't even do that: it just crashed the program.
- [Open Logos]
- [Drag Library to full window.]
- [Open the info panel if not already open.]
- [Enter mytag:[something].]
- Select one resource.
- Click on the tag to be deleted.
- Hit delete.
- Hit enter.
- Short spinning beach ball and crash, with automatic crash report to Apple.
The vast majority of times it crashes on the first item. Once or twice it happened on the second. One single time I got to about half a dozen.

No Logos crash log was generated, so, since this crash seemed to involve more than just Logos, I looked around a bit and found a Mac log with the words 'Logos' and 'crash' in the title and the right time stamp. Hope it helps: 8551.Logos Bible Software 4_2011-01-03-165206_[deleted].crash.zip
I have the indexer log as well if you should want it, and a copy of the automatic message to Apple, if that isn't the same as what's in that file above.

I was able to reproduce this with the release code, but have not been able to reproduce this with the beta code I've been working on.
Coming in the next Beta is a switch from a table view to an outline view (to allow grouping) and in the switch I've made many changes and do believe this to be fixed with the new Beta code in how I am storing the backing data.
Doesn't help much right now, but will be fixed soon.
Thanks

Well, I guess a fix in the beta is better than no fix at all... [:)] But do you really mean "soon"? I thought the beta had only been out a short time, and that it would be quite some time before I could enjoy what's in it?
No idea what you mean with an "outline view", but hopefully it's good! [:)] Have you fixed all the other things as well that desperately annoy me when I have to spend so much time in the Library and Collections as I have lately? Like the awfully long time it takes from tagging or rating or changing the short title of one resource until I can start doing the same to the next one? Or the fact that I can't collapse and expand the library? Or that every time I open Collections I have to start all over with adding, moving and changing the width of all the columns? Or that Collections doesn't have a size control? Or that the Library reference box is so dreadfully short that I have no clue what I've written in it if it's more than a word or two? Or that shift-click and cmd-click doesn't work for hiding resources?
Btw -- in case you should find out later that this particular problem wasn't totally fixed in the beta after all -- I have by now also had a few crashes when renaming a tag. It happens nowhere near as often as when I delete one, but it happens. It also seems that deleting letter by letter very slowly gives a slightly better chance of success than deleting the whole content all at once. But still a very small one.

Wiki page has Beta information and risks => http://wiki.logos.com/The_Logos_4_Beta_Program with links to Release Notes (for both Mac and PC).
Suspect "soon" for stable release some weeks away due to known Mac Print/Export issues listed in Release Notes - encouraged by progress - Logos 4.2a Beta 4 has export to PDF document on Mac along with Language interface choices (English, Spanish, Swedish).
Keep Smiling [:)]
