Notes

Recently I decided to ramp up entering notes on my studying. When I right click on a word and want to enter a note the "new note" selection is no longer there. Now there are 2 note selections that I've created in the past.
Problem and question: to enter a new note now I have to go over to file, open note, a new window opens, I have to title, and so on. It seems like I'm doing something wrong or a feature is disabled or something. When I first had L4 adding a note seemed easier.

Most people (according to Logos research) do not create a new note file for every study, but use only a few note files to hold all their notes. So this option is not available from the right-click menu, unless there are no note files created.
Some have made the suggestion that this be an option all the time.
My preference is to have one note file for my personal reflections, and other note files for specific purposes (e.g. an in depth study of some Biblical topic). And I've gotten into the habit of creating a new note file for those specialized studies I want to do, and don't see the lack of right-click option as an issue. But if you do, by all means make a suggestion in the suggestion forum.

View the video by Mark Barnes on Note Taking in Logos. I think you will find that the notes feature has some capabilities that will meet your needs even though it is not exactly as you have described you would like to see.

i also have been ramping up my usage and hae found the same issue. what i have done is go to favorites and create a file for the books of the bible and as needed i have created a "genesis notes file" or a "Matthew note file" and dragged it to favoites and placed it in my file for that book. then when i am in a book and i want to create a note I open favoites and then the file for that book. i placed the favoites link next to the command box to make it more accessible. i found that to be a little more manageable than having many note files for each occurance of a note. but i agree that it would be much easier if we could access the note files when we right click on a verse or a word. Also, the video on favoites was helpful in figuring this out.

If you want a note file other than those displayed, you can pre-create an (empty) note file which you can then select for adding your note.

Thanks for everyone's help. The video from Mark was helpful. I realize there was an expectation I had based on something I had watched or read regarding notes that did not exist.
I will be working my way through it.
