How do you use Prayer Lists?

I'm not all that sure about the Prayer List function. Part of me doesn't want to reduce my praying to an electronic record. At the same time, I would love to have a convenient means of recording items for prayer etc.
So I'm just wondering if anyone could share their experiences and tips on how to make the most of prayer lists.
Thanks!

I keep it simple. I list a name, a short note of the prayer concern, and set the frequency. I mainly use the prayer list as a reminder. If the particular thing I have listed no longer applies, I usually just change the note. Most of the people I pray for will still need prayer even after the present crisis has passed.

Always a good idea! Thanks for your helpful reply. I think I'll give it a go.
It sure would make it easier if we could create prayer lists from the iPhone, wouldn't it!

Not for me. I don't own an iPhone.

Having just started to explore the prayer list may I ask
How do you actually view your prayer list?
On the ribbon it seems that I can only either mark a prayer read or edit the list.
If I view the list by editing it only part of the note next to the prayer heading is shown.
is there a better display?

If you hover over the heading in the ribbon, a popup will display the entire contents of the note field. When you click the heading, it will be marked completed for the day and disappear. On L4 Mac you need to move the mouse slightly for the popup to appear on the next item. You still have to click Edit to change anything

You will need to click on the heading to see the entire note field.
