Blackberry bug: Gray arrows not visible

I've got the Biblia icon on my Blackberry home screen. I use it a lot when I find myself in a situation where I'm unexpectedly waiting (like tonight picking up pizza ;). Thanks much for the icon and for the site itself.

In the mobile view on a normal browser, there are gray previous chapter / next chapter arrow-shaped buttons to the left and right of the "Contents" text entry field. These are not visible on my Blackberry (a 1st generation AT&T Bold). If I move the cursor where they should be, I can see that there's a link and click to go the the previous / next chapter. But the arrows aren't visible. I was going insane thinking there had to be a way to do it and instead entering each chapter name and clicking "Go". ;)

Thanks,

Donnie

You are in column view, switch to page view. :-)

If you're referring to the Blackberry setting, best I can tell I am in "Page View". The available option on the Blackberry context menu is "Column View" - I picked "Column View" and saw the change to the screen, at which point the available menu option became "Page View". So from a Blackberry perspective, I *am* in page view.

If you're referring to a Biblia.com option, how do I switch to page view?

In either case, it makes no sense for there to be available but invisible links.

    Donnie,

Yes you are right.  I was referring to the blackberry settings.  I dont' understand the difference since it works fine in page view on my BB Curve 8900, I can see and use the grey arrows just fine.

It must be a quirk of your browser/OS version.

Which version OS are you on?  I'm on 4.5.x

I'm still having the same issues with Biblia in the browser on my BB Bold 9000. I'm using the "Internet Browser" browser (as opposed to the BlackBerry Browser, Hotspot Browser, or Media Net browser) - this avoids an issue w/ hitting the web with my BB which gets email from an Enterprise BB server.

My BB OS version is v4.6.0.304.

    Donnie,

I'm shooting in the dark here, but what do Browser>>and then to menu>>Options.

FWIW I have all boxes checked (javascript popups/terminate slow scripts/show images/backgroundimages/ embedded media).

Blackberry is the browser identification setting.

Perhaps one of those settings is somehow responsible?

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I have everything enabled except javascript popups. As my previous mention stated, I'm using the "Internet Browser", not the Blackberry browser. A bit frustrated that no one from Logos has jumped in here to at least acknowledge that I have this problem. But I can still cursor over the invisible links to advance chapters.

Sorry for the very delayed response!  We have indeed had a number of reported Blackberry related problems which we have not had time to address.  The Blackberry browser is one of the more challenging mobile browsers to develop for and the emulator is... less than user friendly.  I'm afraid I can't offer a timeline for when this might be fixed. I hope to be able to at least fix the very worst of the Blackberry issues when we resume full time development on Biblia (see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/27009.aspx for information on the project's status).

I appreciate the reply. At least I know that you guys know about this. For now, Biblia on my BB lets me do what I need - simple reading of the Bible when opportunities present themselves.
