Is anyone currently using L3 (Libronix) in Windows 7? If so, is it working as normal? I just want to know what kind of arrangements and preparation I need to make to continue using L3 should I decide to get a new computer.
Thanks.
When I got my Win 7 computer I installed Logos 3 with no problems HOWEVER I had a very current Partner product with a version of Logos 3 that ran on Vista and I installed that version.
And I had a backup drive with all the resources saved. [Loaded the resources and installed L3 then did a sync licences]
Yes, it works successfully in Windows 7 64-bit. The clue is to install the latest version 3.0g from the web site. Alternatively, install from a recent version 3.0e or 3.0f on DVD and then upgrade via that web site, without starting L3.
Thanks for your post. I am getting a new pc next week with Win7 Ultimate installed. I was wondering if Win7 would be compatible to Lib3. If I understand you correctly, all I need do is to install the latest version of 3.0 from the Logos website and do a license sync. Is that right?
Yes, that's right. Just make sure you install L3 having admin rights (via mouse right-click: 'Run As Administrator')!
[Edit] Of course, you will have to copy your resources from DVD to your harddrive, since there is no server download for resources in L3 as it is in L4.
L3 and win7 are working fine for me.
Libronix and Logos 4 are designed to install and provide the necessary access without "Run as Admin" (although it is best to install L3 from an Admin account).

That is done automatically during installation, else use Location Manager.

I know - however, I'd always recommend to do so since I've experienced some issues with different installations on different systems with some early L3-versions.
Just saying ... There have been some users only familiar with L4 now stepping back to L3 thinking resources will download from Logos-servers ...
