Help! Microsoft Word for Mac does not show any of the Logos Hebrew or Greek fonts!

I am a grad student of Biblical Exegesis at Wheaton College - and it's unbelievably important that I figure out how to make my Mac start showing the fonts again - otherwise, I'm going to be in serious trouble soon!

Background: In the past, the fonts rendered just fine. I would copy-paste the Hebrew words into Mac in as unformatted text to render them correctly (the only way that actually works - one word at a time). And it was great. Then, suddenly, I turned on Word to start typing a paper and none of the fonts for Logos show up on the font registry anymore - much less render the Hebrew correctly.

Can anyone help? I don't know what computer information to put up here as far as to help. So, I'll give it a shot...

The easiest way to get around problems with Word is to stop using it. I've been using Mellel for over a year now and it has yet to do me wrong with Hebrew. They have a trial version.

Good advice normally, but Mellel has a steep learning curve. The OP may not have time to learn. Neither MS Word nor Pages handle Hebrew text well.

Might be a kludge, but try using Bean, a free RTF word processor, save the file and see what happens when you open it in Word. I think that might work.

Also, consider clearing your fonts in Onyx and let the OS rebuild if it is a system issue.

I think mine does the same thing that you are describe. I use TextEdit for my entry and then I cut and paste in to word. It seems to work for what I need.

I'm using Word 2011 and still have some vowel point problems in Hebrew using the default SBL Hebrew font.
