How to suggest / bid on a book

I am almost reluctant to ask this, but I've done a search and can find nothing. I would like to know how to suggest a book for Logos and how to put a bid in on it. I am not sure I'm even asking the question correctly, but let's suppose I am. Your instructions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Phil

People request new books to be added to Logos catalogue in at least two ways:

They request it in the Suggestions forum - http://community.logos.com/forums/28.aspx
They send an email to suggest@logos.com as per http://www.logos.com/about/contact

If a book is then put on the Community Pricing list (http://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Community+Pricing) you can enter a bid at that point.

From what you replied, it appears that your question was answered. I would just add that a community pricing bid is not what you will pay for the item - it is the most that you will pay for the item. A bid of $100 is actually a bid for all amounts from $1 to $100. The book will sell for the smallest amount that will cover the estimated cast to produce the book - all bidders will receive the book for the same price, provided they bid at or above the final sale price.

Also I will point out two other things:

There is no guarantee that Logos will make the book available just because one person requested it; anyway it might take a long time; it depends on a lot of factors, including how much potential interest there is, whether it is still in copyright, and whether the publisher will agree to have Logos put it in their format; things that have been notoriously difficult to get into Logos are foreign translations of the Bible where there are relatively few speakers of the language and it would be a lot of work to do in Logos and/or Logos simply doesn't have the language expertise to do it
If it is still in copyright, it will most certainly not end up in Community Pricing where you can bid on it. It will go into pre-pub instead, where there is a set price, albeit usually quite a bit lower than what it will eventually retail for if there are enough orders to warrant producing it.

Thank you Rosie for those two extra points.The Book(s) I'm crying for, would be the Biblical Illustrator. Another Bible software program has it, so it would be nice to see Logos take it on. As you say, I guess it does depend on a lot of variables. Hope all is well in Vancouver. My wife comes from Vancouver Island, Victoria.

KS4J, that is just the volume on Acts, "only" 2000 pages. People have been asking for the full set (all 34752 pages worth). Here's another thread discussing it: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/12378.aspx
