has anyone heard estimated time of delivery for Hebrew Audio Pronunciations for L4?
Logos has not said anything about it in a long time. The answer is no one but Bob knows the day or the hour. But it would not surprise me to see lightning flash from east to west when it is released[;)]
I bet not even Bob knows the day or the hour. Currently showing merely "Under Contract." Bob recently posted that when they don't give a ship date estimate there it's because they really, really don't know.
Just going to add a nudge and please on this one. I would have thought this one was a slamdunk, but I know there's only so many hands to do everything.
I'm really looking forward to this too. I ordered it over a year ago. I haven't heard an update for a long time. The last official word I can recall seeing was from Bob Pritchet back in Sept 2009, saying:
Sorry -- it's just not ready. Turns out Hebrew pronunciation was a lot more complicated than Greek, because each morphological analysis (and lexicon) has a different opinion on what the "lemma" -- or root word -- actually is. Among other difficulties. That's resolved now, though, and we're into the recording phase.
I ordered this one back in 2007. [:|]
Will this add the "pronounce" option from a right click of the lemma in the interlinear?
I would think it will perform in the same way the Greek pronunciation currently does

Thanks Fred. I will find that of certain benefit. [:)]
Any more news on this anyone? Currently have to go to blue letter bible .org for hebrew audio
Hi!
Will the Hebrew Audio Pronunciations be added to the current Scholar's library (like the Greek one), or do I have to order it separately? If so, it seems to be good to pre-order it.
Pre-publication Hebrew Audio Pronunciations is under development. Currently http://www.logos.com/comparison only shows Greek pronunciations (plus some Reverse Interlinear Bibles with footnote 1: License included with purchase. Files coming soon.)
Apologies: as a Logos user, not know future Logos package content plans.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Talked to Logos, they said it will be an add-on and not included in any package but couldn't tell me a date...I'm skeptical since it was in limbo for so long already.
With pre-pub deliveries cranking back up starting Jan 2012, it would be nice for this one to get out of the gate...hint hint...not sure why it has been in development for so long!
I wonder if they have changed their mind and will make it part of a base package....
Edited, after I searched the forums. MS Text-to-Speech was mentioned by other than Bob Pritchett. I added a few relevant forum posts i found of great interest.
Somewhere in these forums Bob Pritchett said the Hebrew Pronunciation was being held up by Microsoft's Text-to-Speech engine not being able to handle Hebrew. He also said it did not appear to be of high priority to Microsoft to get it working. (I surmised the Logos feature utilizes the Microsoft engine.) Consequently, the Hebrew pronunciation feature is kind of swinging from the yard-arm indefinitely. [:'(]

Another reason to switch to Apple. [;)]

Tks for the sleuthing--following the links made for interesting reading, esp WRT Biblical Hebrew.
I guess I'll have to keep reading Barnes' Notes for a while longer until this pre-pub becomes a post-pub. [A]
This is my very first post on the Logos forums and I have been waiting and checking and re-checking progress on Hebrew Audio Pronunciations and will be really delighted when it comes through.
So please Logos put a bit of development priority back on this one. [:D]
Welcome Hedley. I ordered this the first time back in 2007. I too hope they can release this tool soon.
I'm adding my plea to get this released soon! [*-)]
Thanks
I ordered it in 2007. In August that will be SIX years ago. That has GOT to be some kinda record. Even for Logos.
I agree - come on guys and gals - please put this one back up the priority list and get it finished.
Thanks [Y]
Looking forward to this resource! Can we have an update please? [:)]

Bob answered that question.
Never.
Woot! This finally has a ship date! July 14.
You can order the pre-pub here before it's too late if you haven't already; amazing that the price has stayed the same through all this time and the unanticipated challenges of production. What a deal! http://www.logos.com/product/5960/hebrew-audio-pronunciations
Interesting that this already has 17 ratings and it hasn't even shipped yet. How were those people able to evaluate it? Probably the negative ones were due to annoyance at how long they've had to wait, and the positive ones were due to excitement at anticipation.
I would like to hear a test passage read from this Hebrew Audio Pronounciation. Has Logos published an example audio file, or something like that?
Nope. Good idea to request it though. Hey Logos, is it too late for you to post a sample on the product description page before it goes live so people can make a purchase decision?
The tool is not for reading passages. It is for pronunciation of words, so no there is no sample audio of a passage being read. Some samples of words being pronounced would be useful, even better a video of the tool being used so there is no misunderstanding of what the tool is and is not.
