still having trouble formatting this post,
will try again soon.
I caught your post before you revised. )
In 4.2a, which is currently in beta testing, you'll be able to right-click on a Latin word in a resource and have the option to do a Perseus Lookup on it. Clicking on that context menu option will open the Latin Word Study Tool.
Peace, Melissa!
Thank you! Actually your post taught me something I didn't know. About Perseus and Latin.
I am grateful.
However, my problem is the Forum formatting. So will try again while I figure out how to make my post (a longer and more complicated one)!
God Bless You, and the Great Work you do for us! |And for the Lord, of course!
*smile*
Trying again! *smile* Never give up, eh?
Will try once again, soon

Now trying again!
Had a nice supper! *smile* Must say -- I certainly haven't mastered the Forum posting formatting....
Peace to my Logos Forums Brothers and Sisters!
And! Joy in the Lord!
Something is Missing!!! -- Is this a Solvable Problem???
Farrar, F. W. (1888). The life of Christ.
This is one of my most favourite resources! I give it 4 Stars!
How did the following get left out of my book?
My Latin is a bit rusty, so I had to work a wee bit to figure it out. But, what about those Logos Users who don't have Latin in their backgroung???My Logos Resources has this:
“Ante Christi adventum Lex jubebat non juvabat; post et jubet, et juvat.”—Augustine.After one of His days of loving and ceaseless toil, Jesus, as was His wont, found rest and peace in prayer.
Life of Christ: Chapter 18: The Twelve, and the Sermon on the Mount“Ante Christi adventum Lex jubebat non juvabat; post et jubet, et juvat.”—Augustine.Farrar, F. W. (1888). The life of Christ. (V 1, p 249). New York: Cassell publishing company.Tags: V 1, p 249Clipped: February-10-11Page . Exported from Logos Bible Software 4, 4:47 PM February-10-11.
An Internet version ( http://www.cumorah.com/etexts/farrarlifeofchrist.pdf has this as part of the text.
"Ante Christi adventum Lex jubebat non juvabat; post et jubet, et juvat."[1]
-- AUGUSTINE.[1] Before the advent of Christ, the Law commanded but did not aid; since his advent, it both commands and aids. After one of His days of loving and ceaseless toil, Jesus, as was His wont, found rest and peace in prayer.
Question: What was the original?
Likely, the author (Farrar) put it in. A quote from Augustine. Meaningful to him. Wanted to share it with his readers, so he added a simple translation. So I think!
Can Logos add this as a revision of this resource.
It seems to me that for those who don't know Latin at all, Logos would be doing them a big favour by adding it! That is if they legally can do that with copyright laws and everything.

I truly appreciate Logos. More than I could ever tell you at this moment. I thank God for Logos! (That's a posting in itself!)
Do you think Logos should bother to try to fix this? .... or not?
They can only do so many things, eh?
You can always send an Email to logos4feedback@logos.com and quote this thread. But I suspect that Melissa will also respond here!

Just made a note to do so in case Melissa does not respond ..............
I thought I already did respond above. )
Since this is a suggestion for the resource, rather than the software, I recommend adding your post to the Suggestions forum, or sending an email to suggest@logos.com.
