Crash after loading RC1 - Now crash trying to load saved layouts in RC1
I had Beta 9 running.
I typed "Run Update" in the Command Bar. Logos opened my system settings panel where it said an update was available. I clicked on that to run the update.
The task bar notifier indicated a 20+ MB download. It finished and a pop-up told me to click on it to install the update. I did so.
So far everything is working as I expect.
Logos 4 closes as the update is installing.
After all activity is finished I try to launch 4.0.
The splash screen comes up. Then L4 opens up and the mouse pointer does its chase the tail thing.
After about 20 seconds and before any of my layout appears, L4 crashes. I get the Windows notification screens that Logos 4 has stopped working.
I've tried twice to restart 4.0 and each time is the same. I've attached the log files.
I could use some help in trying to get L4 working again.

Mark try holding down the CTRL key and start with a blank screen check mark. See if this will get you up and running again.

How to ask for help for Logos issues.

Jason, thanks. That trick allows me to open L4 successfully. I am now apparently running RC1.
After opening to a blank screen every attempt to open a saved layout results in a crash. The newest log file is attached.
I can access the Home Page but not any of my saved layouts.
So more help needed.

This is now a little more complicated.
I opened to a blank screen as above.
I opened to the Home Page.
I clicked on one of the devotions of the day.
L4 successfully opened the devotional and my favorite Bible side by side.
I then tried to open one of my saved layouts. I was successful in getting two of my four to open without the program crashing, but it crashed on the other two, and when I tried to open an earlier screen shot (one that was open when I ran the update to RC1) it also crashed.
Reopening L4 to a blank screen I tried to open the two layouts that I had successfully opened as indicated above without first going to the home page. They both opened. I was able to switch between those two layouts. However attempting to open the other two that I haven't been able to open since updating to RC1 resulted in crashes.
It appears two of my four saved layouts have been corrupted. Too bad, since they are the ones I spent the most time building and are the ones I use regularly. Hope I can get them back without rebuilding.
L4 generated no new log files during the activities I've outlined here.

It looks like you might be running into a problem introduced in RC1. Do you remember what Bibles might be open (or, specifically, what the single Bible selected to search in one of your Bible Search panels might be)?

The open Bibles in one of the two layouts include (if I recall properly):
NASB95 (2 copies, one linked, one not), KJV, ESV, NIV, NET, NLT and HCSB (not sure about this one). Also NA27 w/Gramcord, NA27 w/Gramcord and Interlinear.
The other layout would have had the English versions and BHS with 4.2 morphology but not the Greek New Testaments.
Any open search in either would have been on the NASB95. I know there was one such open search in one of the two layouts and likely in the second. Ironically that search would have been for the word 'determined', not that that fact probably matters.

This bug should be fixed in RC2.

I believe I know have RC2 (my version number is 4.0.3.xxxx). When I tried to switch layouts to one of the two problem ones, Logos simply locked up. (It still is a few minutes later). My mouse pointer is just the hand with the index finger. I cannot click on anything in the program and get a response. I cannot minimize it or close it. No logs to send since it hasn't crashed. I will close it through Windows and give another try.

I cannot change to the other saved layout that had previously (RC1) not caused a problem. The program locks up.
Here's the sequence:
Click on the down arrow next to "Layouts".
The panel opens showing my saved layouts.
Click on one of the saved layouts.
The Layouts panel closes.
Nothing happens after this (not even the fun blackouts) and the program is unresponsive.
The program cannot be maximized or minimized or closed.
The program will not come forward if you click on it with another program's window in front of it (this Firefox window, for example).

Something just happened. At least four minutes after trying to change the layout and locking up, Logos suddenly opened to the layout I'd selected and then just as suddenly closed. I restarted it and it opened to the layout that I had selected. Strange behavior.

After the indexing finished, I can now go from one layout to another without everything locking up. So the problem has gone away.
