Is it possiable to get some screen shots or some of the ideas going into v.4? Maybe you guys could ask them to do this just so we have something to carry us over until it comes out? Please
I know there was no proce between versions of LIbronix. I specifically asked in regards to Logos Library System to LIbronix 1.0
I was wondering if you would answer ahypothetical question. Let's just say that, for argument sake, youowned a software company, and suppose you were talking to your R&Dteam about the next version of your software. What specifically isone feature would you ask them to add or change? Hypotheticallyspeaking of course. Hypothetically, I'd want to be able to search the whole library -- thousands of books even -- in just seconds.

Hypothetically speaking, I hope the notes system also gets a major upgrade.
I'm playing with the thought of using Microsoft Office OneNote for keeping information, including web articles, personal notes, etc. If we could get Libronix to include OneNote data in searches, that would be something...
I use and really LIKE Microsoft OneNote. A "search from Logos" capability would be great. But would it be asking too much if Logos version 4 could search ANY data you attach to it? You kow the boys over at Google have done it with their search engine. I remember AltaVista was 10 years ahead of Google on it so it shouldn't be some patent preventing it. I may be wrong but I thought Microsoft's .NET and Framework were supposed to move us in that direction .
One of the first things my senior pastor showed me when I was getting ready to enter the ministry was his 20-year file of hanging folders of resources he's gathered. He warmly encouraged me to put together a similar collection of resources. I like the concept of making the most of the useful stuff God sends our way, but I'd like to do it digitally, and even while I love Logos, OneNote sure is easier to put a web article, hand-written note (Tablet PC), etc. into. So, I think it'll be where I'll move all those notes. I understand it stores stuff in XML, and exposes a bunch of stuff via APIs. If it was possible to query the search results it can provide, and integrate those results with Logos search results (which I understand is/will be written in .NET), it would provide a tremendously valuable two-punch for pastors. Microsoft is planning to include OneNote with every version of Office 2010, including a free web-based Office, so it'll be pretty big very soon.
Just dreaming out loud...
Joe
LLS went throug a few versions itself though. I doubt anyone went from 1.0 to Libronix.
