Question: Works of Van Til

I've picked up a couple of the specials (really excited about Beale's Commentary on N.T. Use of O.T.). I'm thinking about getting the works of Van Til - http://www.logos.com/product/3994/the-works-of-cornelius-van-til .

One item in that collection is his audio works. Does anyone know if those can only be listened to with Logos? Or can I access the individual audio files to listen to them in, for example, my car (which can play MP3 CDs or connect to my iPod)?

I have attempted to see if I can find any audio files that could be easily extracted and have drawn a blank (but I am happy to be corrected here). You should also know that the audio quality is generally very poor.

Saying that the resource as a whole is excellent and I cannot praise it highly enough.

I have really enjoyed the Van Til lectures that Westminster Seminary have made freely available on ITunes University, when reading his work it really helps to remember him discussing his concepts on a general level.

I keep meaning to check out what's on iTunes University but keep forgetting. While I have an iPod Touch, I never use iTunes (a horrible piece of software, at least on Windows - I use MediaMonkey). But I should check some of that stuff out. Thanks for reminding me.

I have the Van Til library. The audio resource allows you to save
individual audio files in much the same way as you can save images from
all the other resources.(That is, you right-click and choose 'Save as…'). It will save them in .WAV format, however, which you'll probably then need to convert to .MP3 if you want to play it on another device.

Yes, in the sense that they were probably recorded on an ancient tape player. But they're quite audible and not bad considering their age. Below are two 60sec samples - one representing poor quality, the other is better quality.

As usual, Mark, thanks! Anything that sounds like that first clip can be cleaned up with standard audio filters. It's tedious but straightforward - I'm surprised it hasn't been done.

In any case, I'm interested enough in Van Til that I picked up the collection.

I would like to see the audio cleaned up. I was somewhat disappointed in the quality, but I don't regret the purchase.
