I'd like to be able to do this from time to time.
Sure.
If you normally start up with the home page, just click the home button without entering anything in the passage field (it closes the home page and displays the current layout, which is blank).
If you already have a layout open, just enter "Close All" in the command bar. (You can drag the command that appears in the drop-down list to the toolbar to create a button that does the same thing).
Very good. Than you, Todd.
I'm stylin'. I knew about the first method, but I don't really care to open to the Home Page.
Ctrl + shift + w is the keyboard shortcut for close all.
Maybe I'm mis-understanding your question ... I thought you wanted to startup Logos with a clean slate .... not where you left off last time (which the above answers address). The only way I manage that is to crash Logos when I shut down (thereby avoiding the last layout being used). Then when I startup it's clean.
If you close all tabs before quitting, it will open to a blank slate next time. I just tried.
By the end of the day I have so many tabs open that closing them all would be quite a chore. Todd Phillips suggestion is just the ticket for me.
@Denise
I like the fact that Logos returns to the same state as the last session, but once in a great while I want to create a new layout from scratch and the Close All command is good to know. Thanks Todd and Philip.
I personally would like the option to set L4 to always start with a blank layout. I never (well almost never) want to start where I left off. This is because it is very likely that I will be doing a different task the next time I start L4.

(Though now that I've realized I can do it that way, it's pretty easy to close all before shutting down.)
You can also save a Blank Layout (i've named it Blank Layout). It clears everything pretty quick.
Better yet, Steve. Toolbar real estate is valuable.
it's pretty easy to close all before shutting down.
I try to remember to do this, but I do forget to do this 100% of the time. And when I forget to close out all of my tabs, it adds a lot of time to start L4.

I'll probably forget it lots of times too, but it shouldn't really be any harder to remember than to update the layout.
There is still another way. During the start up press "command key". You will see an option to start with blank layout in the log in windows. Select it and continue log in.
But I would like to have this as a configuration setting.

During the start up press "command key".
Alternatively, hold the Ctrl key while starting Logos. Same dialog results (splash screen has a checkbox to open with a blank layout, regardless of what was last open).
