4.2a RC1 Incomplete export from Text Comparison

Member Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭

Viewing 1 Thessalonians 4:10–12 in Text Comparison using multiple English Bibles (NAS, AMP, Wordstudy KJV, ESV, GNB, ISV, LEB, The Message, NIrV, NIV, NLT, WUESTNT):

  • Go to Print/Export
  • Click "Copy to Clipboard"
  • Go to Word document
  • Past to document

Only the first verse (v10) of each Bible gets pasted to the Word document (instead of verses 10-12 selected and displayed in the Text Comparison AND the Print/Export preview page).

The same thing happens if I use "Paste into Open Document: Microsoft Word" in the Print/Export tool.

I'm not able to reproduce this with the same Bibles and same passage. I do get more than one page in my Word document.

Do you see all 3 verses in the Preview?

  • Member Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭

Yes, I do get all 3 verses in the preview, but they don't make it into the Word document (only the first verse for each Bible version).  Just in case it makes a difference, I am using Word 2007.

Also, I am running Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop.

I cannot reproduce with Word 2007. Please state the value of options in the Print/Export dialogue eg. Margins, Printer, Print as Exported/Print as screen

Thanks for the document. It's definitely not exporting all 3 verses. Does it do the same with "Print as exported" selected?  Do you have a custom style set up in Word?

Does it do the same with "Print as exported" selected?

I didn't see/try that option before.  When I select "Print as exported" the display in the Print/Export window changes to show only the first verse for each version just like the output on the Word document I sent previously.  Send-to and paste-to Word and Text have the same one verse output as before.

I have no special formats, templates or styles set in Word.

Thank you again for your help.

Could you attach the Logos4.log that is generated after you've exported the Text Comparison results with multiple verses to Word with "Print as exported" selected?   Thanks.

Attached is my logos4.log file as requested.  Export was set with "Print as exported" and I sent the export to a new Microsoft Word document and had the same results as before - only the first verse for each version was exported.

    Thank you.

Thanks. I'll submit your log and document to development for review.

Edit:  One other question, Tim:  Do exported text and web page files look the same as your Word document, when the preview shows all 3 verses?

Hi Tim ~  In case you didn't see my addition to previous post, we had one other question:  Do exported text and web page files also include only one verse, as in your Word document, when the preview shows all 3 verses?    ~ Thanks, Melissa

Interesting - when I have "Print as shown on Screen" selected, and the preview shows all 3 verses, and I do the "Save as file", the TXT, HTML and RTF outputs show only one verse each, but the XPS output shows all 3 verses.

If I do the same thing when I select "Print as exported" (which shows only one verse in the preview), all 4 "Save as file" formats have only one verse each (including XPS).

Log files attached (both Logos4Indexer and Logos4 since the indexer triggered when I launched Logos this time).

Thanks for the add'l info and logs. I'll pass these on to developers.

Update:  This will be fixed in 4.5 and the fix available in the first 4.5 beta, available in the next couple of weeks.
