SUGG: "Update Current Layout" feature.

There seems to be no quick way to update the current layout (when it has been loaded from a previously saved named layout).
Currently, this requires
- Entering the Layout menu
- Clicking on the name of the top listed item.
- Re-entering the layout name.
This is like a "Save As" feature ... could there be an "update current layout" option, which will update the previously loaded named layout with the layout as it now stands, like a "Save" option?
Why is this useful? When switching between layouts e.g. a reading layout and a Greek study layout, I want to update the layout to reflect how it was when I most recently finished with it, so I can resume at that place if needed.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
I have asked for this constantly. And, not long ago, was told to keep my eyes peeled. I have not slept since and have still not seen it. It is not in the Release Candidate, so at the very least we'll be waiting until the 4.0b Beta.

I had been wanting the same thing. When making changes to a document in Word, all I have to do is press Ctrl-S to save it. When making a modification to an existing layout, I'd like to be able to press Ctrl-S (or something) and save it to the current layout name.

It would also be nice if the name of the current layout was displayed somewhere (e.g. on the titlebar or when you click on Layouts). This would help in your request so that i would not accidentally overwrite the wrong layout.

that's a great suggestion, steve. Like Damian, I am a-waitin' for the promised update. until then, I am finding plenty of other things within logos to keep me busy.

I just wanted to post the same suggestion and then saw this. I have my layouts in the shortcut area on the top of the screen. I would love to just right-click on the icon and click "save". At the moment the only right-click options are "Open" and "Delete".

I have asked for this in the suggestion forum, the mac forum and I'll +1 this here now! [:#]

I vote yet to both Richard's and Steve's suggestions [Y] Just an hour or so ago, I wanted to save changes to my Layout, but I could not remember the name of my current Layout.

This is my first post on the forums and it's in regard to this very suggestion. Great idea! Add me to the list of those who would love to see it... soon.

I've already suggested cmd-s/ctrl-s on a number of threads, so I'm happy to add my vote here as well.

You can update a saved layout to what is currently on the screen by right clicking on the layout and click update.
Is this what y'all asking for, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Concur with request for keyboard shortcut to update last chosen layout - quicker than 3 clicks now needed to update an existing layout.

[Y] - wish main window title would include layout name: Logos Bible Software 4 - Layout Name

[see prior post]Take the two points that Keep Smiling points out - It is way too easy to update the wrong layout [also does the last update show your current layout - that is are you changing layouts faster then the system can keep up?] [We are studing on a computer - let it keep track - ctl-s and cmd-s are 'standards' for save current work - lets get them active]
