iPad 2 vs Xoom

Will Xoom run full Logos?  That would trump everything.

No it wont .it wont run any form of Logos it will only run less than 100 native apps while the ipad has 6500 native apps

So it is just ridiculous to even consider one at this stage, maybe in 6 months if they get some more decent apps. Its all about apps. no apps no use.

Just saw a demo video on Engadget of the new ipad 2 showings its speed and as the guy said it is blazingly fast even faster than the Xoom it leaves it in the dust yet the ipad 1 is very very fast anyway

It makes no clear case at all. Just makes statements like the Xoom is better than ipad one ?  Why ? no real reason no real rational at all.

It says Honeycomb is a better OS but doesnt say  exactly why rather than Flash support which isnt even available yet in the Xoom and is terrible on other Android devices, again buggy, crashes regularly and a security hole. BTW Flash is mainly used for video and over 2/3s of all video on the web is available in non Flash format so thats not really an issue for most people.

If you read some proper reviews from credible Journalists you'll see that The Xoom hardware and Honeycomb are still buggy, That compared to the ipad one the system is on occasions jerky and not smooth. The quality of the hardware build is not up to the ipads. Yet if you look at Engadjets site youll see a video today showing the ipad 2 and it incredible speed, way faster than the Xoom and any other tablet. The ipad 1 is not slow either, very smooth unlike Honeycomb. The ipad 2 graphics are 9 x faster than the ipad 1, Watch some of these videos and youll be blown away how it can in real time animate 9 live separate movie feeds on a screen at once, by animate I am referring to touching the screen and using your finger to manually distort the images instantly, Blazingly fast was the term used

Part of my job is to read 100's of news and reviews feeds every day on the Tech industry. Creditable reviews say that Honeycomb and the Xoom are good but buggy , glitchy lack any decent apps and though look superior in some hardware specs the reality is no. Its not there yet is the resounding response. Not recommeded for average users and lets face it without a decent choice of apps youd be made to jump on it yet. the ipad has a decent history now the Xoom and others dont YET. Give them another 6 months and see.

By the way 50,000 people downloaded at least 1 of 25 apps on the Android store that Google doesnt vet very well and finally pulled these apps this week.

Why may you ask, cause they all looked legitimate but where malware which immediately rooted the devices and stole all the info, (rooting gives the intruder total control of the whole system) So thats another reason why to be very careful with any Android based system. Yes funnily enough you can buy antivirus spyware for an Android device but none of it picked or stopped any of this, the users where completely oblivious. IOS doesn't have these issues. This in itself is 1 reason the average user should stay away till Google sets up a proper vetting system and closes these and a number of other recently reports security holes.

So if you want to wait 6 months for honeycomb android tablets to hopefully get refined and bugs sorted that a good idea. 

Or you couldnt go wrong with and ipad 1 or 2 and a choice of 6500 apps.

I am using the ipad one and dont feel a need for anymore speed or cameras so i am happy to stick with it rather than upgrade.

I'm going to buy one or the other but am not sure which would be the best (at this second because when I get up in the morning something else will be better, ie, iPad 3). JFWIW, I am thinking of the iPad 64gig

Any thoughts and/or reasons? except for the fact that there is no droid app at this moment (see above)

Personally, I'm continuing my wait to see what the new 10.1" Galaxy S Tab is like.  As much as I like the form factor of the iPad, I can't see investing in one.  Too many limitations and shortcomings for my taste.

I noticed someone mentioning the new protocols for Apple software. I have read (I believe it was the a Vice President with Apple), state that the new policy was not intended to be aimed at software, indeed it seems hard to see how it can even be effected against Amazon. Apples in App purchasing option is limited to 3000 items and under. Apple I am quite sure will be clarifying things, for the most part Apple is better than many other options like kindle, who take a 70% cut and then demands a delivery fee, some publications that are on Kindle when al is said and done get less than a $1 for what AMAZON charges $10 for. Apple's plan has forced Amazon to reduce their's down to 30% as well, but only for Amazon's largest clients. I have little doubt their policy was worded in such away to try to force barns and noble and amazon to provide some revenue to Apple, but it won't work. Barns and Noble have several compatible readers out there and Amazon would only have to minor reworking on Stanza to make this third party free reader Kindle book compatible. And as I said before the Apple model for in App purchasing requires a catalog under 3000 items, which would seem to exclude any company with large book options.
