As of 2:50 ET This SR was only published on the Stable RSS, if you have your update channel set to beta you won't get it. Set your update Channel to Default and you'll get it.

Melissa will this require the software to rebuild the index?

SR1 was not released on the beta channel, so you had to be on the stable channel (by default).

You are right (as always)! It's strange because I've not changed the channel to stable. I've get an 58MB resource update yesterday:
Can a resource update reset the update channel? I've had update channel set to beta (since private beta testing) and have running RC1 until yesterday.
EDIT: I can't set update channel in the Swedish UI. I have to change to English UI to set update channel. I haven't set it to stable "by mistake". It couldn't be done.

If no channel is shown on the About.. dialog then you are on the "Default" channel. If you were running a beta version the default channel is beta but an RC will "reset" the default to stable - this is how you were able to update to SR-1.

I try to update, but get the following error as copied below.
Firstly, I'd restart your computer, then try the update again. If it still doesn't work, you're going to download the update manually, then right-click on the downloaded setup file and choose 'Run as Administrator'. Unfortunately if you choose this second method, you're probably going to have to do the same thing everytime a program update is released.
The updated can be downloaded manually from: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/4.21.5.0790/Logos4Setup.exe

Eva,
Try opening Logos 4 by right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator". Logos 4 should have full writing rights then and install the update properly. The error message you're getting indicates that you've installed Logos 4 with admin rights - in order to upgrade it, you have to do this with the same settings.

As far as I'm aware there's no need to download the update manually. I have to do updates with admin rights, but the download itself always starts from within Logos 4 itself. This seems to be normal behaviour when one has installed Logos 4 by using "Run as administrator".

Yes, that's true. Running Logos as administrator will cause the updates to run as administrator as well. I didn't recommend that because:
- I wasn't sure if Logos still worked after the original installation problem.
- If you always run Logos as administrator, then Logos doesn't play well with other applications and some functions don't work properly (such as Smart Tags, for example).
But if you only run Logos as administrator when you know that it's going to install an update, that should work fine as an alternative method to the manual download.

You're right, Mark! That's the way I'm using Logos - I usually do install all programs by using admin rights, while running them in "normal" mode for normal usage. Logos 4 works just fine this way, it's just that you have to remember to open it with admin rights when you want to do an update.

Try to make Logos 4 an exception - you won't have to remember anything[:D]

That would require to uninstall Logos 4 and install and index it all over again - I'll stick to having to remember something every now and then ... [:D]

I installed 4.2a yesterday and 4.2a SR1 this morning.
I'm not sure which update caused the problem, but there seems to be a bug with Hebrew lettering. I notice it in BHS, the Lexham Interlinear, and in BDB.
When I go to a passage in BHS, only the first line is showing. Sometimes a few more lines will show, but they overlap. The spacing seems to be off significantly and the book itself is not responding properly.
Can someone please look into this bug? It makes BHS completely unusable!!
Thanks very much...

Eleanor,
Which edition of the BHS are you refering to? I use the BHS SESB 2.0 version and can't confirm the problems you've mentioned there.

Hi Eleanor,
Could you:
- Restart your computer, in case it's a temporary font problem.
- If it persists, upload logs and a screenshot (see 'how to ask for help' below for instructions)

I usually use BHS with Westminster 4.2 morphology.
I'm seeing the same issues when I open BHS SESB 2.0, BHS WTS 4.0, AFAT, Lexam Hebrew Interlinear, ... basically anything with Hebrew.
I read from both BHS WTS 4.2 and LHI on Tuesday and had no troubles.

Oh, thank goodness. It was a font problem and a restart did resolve the issue.
Sorry about that... I should have thought to try restarting before posting.
Thanks very much!!

Dave,
I think I don't get it - how exactly does that contribute to changing rights settings for an already existing installation?

It means you could back up your index and resources, then uninstall Logos, then re-install Logos (NOT using administrator) and restore your index and resources. No need for a download and re-index that way.

Ah, now I understand - thanks, Mark! However, I don't think it's worth the effort.

Can't seems to download 4.2a SR1 update, either directly from within Logos, or via Logos4Setup.exe.
From within Logos, it just report "No Update Available", even though I'm running 4.2 SR2.
From Logos4Setup.exe, it just trying to download the Logos 4 Web Script.
Is it the update server up and running?

Seems fine to me (the web script is http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4WebScript.lbxdat) . Can you start a new thread explaining the problem, but also uploading logos4setup.log from the Logos Log Files folder in My Documents.
Thanks,
Mark

I was very pleased that Logos put out the notice of resources affected by the updates the next Day. It helps to narrow down checking for possible problems. It may have been mentioned, but why were there two updates: "...a" and then "...a SR1"? What was the difference?

4.2a was affected by a bug that caused a lot of people to suffer an indexer crash. 4.2a SR-1 (Service Release 1) was released later in the day to fix that bug.
