Downloading Resources stuck at 12%

I just purchased the Bible Study Library and when I went to bed last night it said it was preparing to download.  When I got up this morning it says "Downloading Resources" and it is at 12% of 3.91 GB.  However, in the hour I've been up so far, it has yet to move, and my Hard Drive shows no sign that it is downloading.  I have quit and reopened, and after signing in it brought me back to the 12% sign.  How do I get it to actually download?

    Hi Matt,

As a quick attempt you could try typing "update now"  (without quotes) in the command box at the top of logos 4, if not you may want to attach your logs (see http://www.logos.com/mac/support/bugs) and post them here.

Wonder about network connection ?  Apple's Activity Monitor can show network activity.  Also can open Logos4Indexer.log file while download (and indexing) being done - watch progress messages.  Option: restart Mac (resets memory usage and running processes) - after restart, Blue Logos icon should appear in menu bar - can use Activity Monitor along with opening Logos4Indexer.log files in Console (defaults to scrolling log files as lines are written to log file).

When upgrading an older Logos 4.0 Mac installation to 4.2a Release Candidate 1 (later become initial 4.2a stable release), personally restarted Logos several times (including couple Mac restarts) so could get all files downloaded then indexed - posted bug in Mac Beta forum => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/30422.aspx

if not you may want to attach your logs (see http://www.logos.com/mac/support/bugs) and post them here.

Mac Troubleshooting page has How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac - includes link to Logos support page plus composite reporting summary (gleaned from many forum threads), including link to Logos Logs Scribe for compressing logs for posting.

Other option is contacting Logos => http://www.logos.com/about/contact for remote assistance.

Thank you all for your help, but I've fixed the problem.  I restarted the computer, and then opened it up, and it went straight to the home page, with access to whatever had been downloaded.  It is now downloading the rest, and looking fine.  Thanks again for such quick responses (on a Sunday no less)

  • Posted reply - another thought came to mind - wonder about AC adapter connection and computer sleep - initial Logos 4 setup downloads resource files then indexes (may take several hours) - suggest setting Energy Saver preference for computer sleep to Never => http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2490
