RC1 -- no logging anymore?
Where is RC1 logging? It's not the same place as before. At least in my install.

My guess, logging has been stepped down for the release. How do we turn it on again?

Is there no logging at all now? I've looked in the install directory and elsewhere and can't find it.

Logging is disabled by default in RC 1. To turn it on (or off), run:
- http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/DisableLogging.js
Edit: In RC 3 (and later), the log files are now written to "My Documents\Logos Log Files".

Thanks.
I assume people that have posted logs to the forum post-RC1 are posting invalid logs without knowing it.

Brad, I need some help with this. I tried opening this in IE and it wants to run it in a program I no longer have: Dreamweaver. What program can I tell it to run in?

If you save the file to your hard drive, you can run
wscript C:\Path\To\EnableLogging.js
to run it. (Press Windows+R to open the "Run" dialog, which is no longer on the Start Menu in Vista.)
You can also hold down CTRL while starting the application to force logging for that session (only). This will also force the Sign In screen to appear; just click "Sign In" to log in and start the program normally.

Worked like a charm. Thanks.

Is this a one time, permanent fix or will I have to run this everytime I start L4?

Running those scripts will permanently enable (or disable) logging.

Running those scripts will permanently enable (or disable) logging.
I suggest these scripts be made easier to run (simple exe's) and installed in the L4 Log Files folder - probably in a sub-folder to prevent accidental execution!

could this not be added to the command bar commands?

Running those scripts will permanently enable (or disable) logging.
Semi-permanently: Installing a software update reset it to no logging, and I had to enable it again.

I take it back. Even after running the EnableLogging.js script again, I still have no logging.
Anyone else?

I just tried using the run command as Bradley suggested and had a screen come up saying Logos 4 logging but it doesn't appear to be in the Libronix Logfiles folder. Is there somewhere else it may be logging to?

Who knows? It was in the same folder for RC1 and RC2, but it stop working today after RC3 or whatever it was. My last log file has version 4.0.3.2059 listed in it.

I saved the links (Save link as ...) to the logging folder and double-click the resulting *.js files. Logging takes place in the usual folder.

Dave I tried that as well but it didn't seem to work. I just tried making sure they were in the folder for the log file and double clicked, restarted L4 and it still doesn't seem to be loggin anything.

As did I. Script files run fine and I get the logging enabled pop-up. But no logging.

Hi everyone,
Sorry that we haven't got the RC3 release notes up yet (soon!); they will tell you that logging is now output to the "Logos Log Files" folder.

AH! There it is! I'm surprised I didn't see that sooner.

Semi-permanently: Installing a software update reset it to no logging, and I had to enable it again.
Most likely, what happened is that the software update changed the output location of the log files, so it just looks like it isn't working.

the "Logos Log Files" folder
Maybe I'm just not seeing properly but where is the "Logos Log Files" folder kept. I can find "Libronix Log Files" in My Documents but this doesn't appear to be it!
Could someone please give me directions?
Thanks

"Logos Log Files" is in "My Documents" -- but I bet that the folder is probably not created until you turn on logging on via the Enable Logging script (and restart Logos).

I haven't enabled logging with any script and that could be why the logs I have are from 27th October.
Where do I get this scripts and how do I use it?
Thanks
