I've got a Concise HALOT. Would the full HALOT or NIDOTT be your next choice if you had to choose? And why?
That's a tough choice. I have both in print and I'm wishing for them both electronically.
I'd probably go HALOT because it's exhaustive and considered the standard work. However, with HALOT being in Portfolio I'm more likely to get NIDOTTE first because I aspire to get Portfolio and it would be more cost-effective that way. This reason may or may not have traction with you.
Here is a snapshot of all three (NIDOTT, HALOT concise, and HALOT) all on the same word. As you can see, NIDOTT adds a lot more conversation to the mix. Depends on what your needs are. I have Portfolio (got the bundle) and so I recently (last year) bought NIDOTT. I'd think that NIDOTT would be a good balance if you have the concise HALOT already. But, again, it depends on your needs.

Segoe UI. Which surprised me, because I thought I was using Ebrima--which is very similar. You like? There was a whole thread somewhere on fonts where I mentioned it. Very clean looking to me.

They're two different dictionaries, though both excellent in their own way. HALOT is a straightfoward lexicon, giving the meanings of individual words, and some examples of how they are used (in scripture and elsewhere). NIDOTTE, on the other hand, is more of a lexical/theological dictionary, in a similar way to TDNT.
So it's a bit like saying BAGD or TDNT? They're two different things.
Personally, if I already had some reasonable lexicons, but didn't have an OT theological dictionary, then I'd buy NIDOTTE. If I already had a good OT theological dictionary, then I'd buy HALOT.
In the long run, both. In the short term, either. [8-|]
