“Some search results may be missing or incorrect ... "

My library has completed its re-indexing from 4.2a SR-1. All has been well, until SR-2 and I downloaded some new resources. I have checked the inder.log file and indexing of the new resources is shown complete with no problems. I have not noticed the following message on searches in the past: “Some search results may be missing or incorrect while your library is being indexed" (see image below). Is this a new note or do I have a problem and not all resources are being searched? If this is a problem, how do I fix it (I have restarted Logos and rebooted). I really don't want to go through another 19 hours of reindexing if possible.) Thx in advance for an explanation! Smile

    Bruce,

that message indicates that an indexing is going on...evidently after the last download of resources, you are still indexing.

Robert; thx for the quick response … and I was afraid that was going to be someone’s answer.

The problem is that there is no indexing going on, no Logos icon in the tray (indicating indexing) and CPU usage is zip (usually at about 100% when indexing). If you look at the index.log (attached), there are no resources needing to be indexed and indexing is shut down. However, when I run a search I get the message as noted above. So, do you or others have an idea of what is going on … or do I need to do a reindex command? Thx!

    Bruce,

If this message is surviving a computer reboot - I would suggest that yes, a rebuild index command would be necessary.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Thomas: Thx for the input. I went ahead with the “rebuild index” command, and Logos crashed. I restarted Logos and it stopped working again. This second time I had to totally shut it down through the Windows Task Manager. I started logging when I started Logos for the 3rd time and indexing started on its own. The program seemed to load just fine, and I loaded a layout to see what happened. All went well.

After about an hour indexing is at about 2%, CPU is running at about 90-100% so I suspect things are working. I have attached the Logos4Crash and Logos4indexer logs for information. At this point I am going to see what happens, but if you or others can explain why the crash and what may need to be done that would again be appreciated! Thx again to everyone on the forum.

The crash log includes this:  "System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Bruce\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\cbeykvea.dyh\LibraryIndex\index.dcm' because it is being used by another process."

I'm not sure what other process was using the file, but I will submit your logs to development for review.

Melissa: Thank you so much for keeping a watchful eye on the forums! It is great to know that Logos is there!  [Y]

Hopefully, to close out this and provide feedback. Indexing completed and the problem seems to have been resolved. I have attached the indexer.log file for information if that might be helpful. Please note that I changed the name of the file so that if I started over with some other problem I would have a record of this indexing.

Again, thx to all who have responded! [:)]

The bug causing this issue will be fixed in the next service release.
