I'm hoping details become available soon. I've tucked some money away for this, but it would be nice to know details such as…

Will the current pre-pub price be THE price for people who desire to spread the cost out over time?

What amount of time are we talking about here? Same as current options?

Can EEC simply be added to current payment plan?

Knowing these details will help me determine if I can afford some resources set to go live prior the EEC launch. It will also help me determine if other 'needed' purchases are advisable right now.

There is one other option for the small minority who bothered to heed Chicken Little's advice.

If you have the EEC in your October Surprise snapshot, you would have through June to go for it.

Seems fair to me. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of funding a semi-risky Logos endeavor upfront like this.

Seems fair to me. I'm not sure I'm a big fan of funding a semi-risky Logos endeavor upfront like this.

I would definitely follow through with my prepub if we paid for each volume as it was released. I would also agree to pay $15.90 a month until the total balance was paid then get the remaining resources as they were completed. This would amount to 44 monthly payments, but it would be much easier than $700 at one time.

My wife said the same thing when I used to buy print volumes and she hated me having them at home. I still have them, but in an office. Now she hates me buying too many digital books, but it's bearable since they don't take much space at home [;)]...she says I can buy, but to control myself and to buy as long as it comes out of my allowance and not hers....I say, "Fair enough" and then PNTC on 1 Corinthians was added to my library last night...[:D]...gotta love 'em Logos books!!!

Why a Payment Plan for the EEC?

The first volume of the EEC is tentatively scheduled to ship on June 1, 2011. New volumes of the EEC will become available over the next several years. When the first volume ships on June 1, 2011, we will process orders for the entire EEC. Then, as each new volume becomes available, it will download into your library automatically.

The Pre-Pub program allows us to offer you the EEC at an amazing deal—way less than you’d pay if the whole series were available today, but we understand the hesitation that some have to paying in full for something you won’t have complete access to for several years. In the past, you’ve had to choose between the benefits of the Pre-Pub program and the benefits of our payment plans. But we’ve decided to let you have the best of both worlds this time. You can get the amazing Pre-Pub price and make multiple interest free payments. With the EEC payment plan, you can stretch out your payments so your card is not charged for the full amount when the first volume ships.

How the EEC Payment Plan Works
You can customize the EEC payment plan to work best for your budget.

I am right there with you. I love to know "why" too! [:)] However, we probably won't be getting into "why" for individual volumes, due to their unique nature and extremely close ties to their author.

The challenge with discussing any particular title in the collection in isolation, is the potential for revealing personal and private information about the author. I have not looked into Psalms specifically, so I am not referring to that title at all, but for example... what if a particular author got a new job, had to move, had a serious medical condition, family issues, went on an unplanned research sabbatical opportunity of a lifetime, more urgent publishing deadlines... We are working hard to stay on schedule and produce the best commentary possible.

thanks for the response. Psalms I think will be a very important volume for this series. NICOT has not put out a volume on the Psalms and the WBC is nice for the Hebrew but theologically is uneven from an evangelical perspective. NAC doesn't has not released a commentary on Psalms either. I'm really hoping the EEC makes its mark on this important book.

The payment options look great. We have all been waiting for something like this.

I think the other big question that most would like to have answered before commiting to an order is about content. We have not seen any content yet. Other commentaries that we buy from Logos have been in print and are a known entity. They have been reviewed and their worth has been proven.

Will we have some sample pages to evaluate before we have to commit to purchasing 44 unpublished volumes?
