Having used the Logos app on the iPad almost daily for several months now, I would like to suggest the following UI improvements:
1) When you tap on the middle of the reading screen, an overlay screen shows up with a top area and some toolbar buttons on the bottom. There is also a band of previously used books with their cover images. It shows 25 previous books.
a) The 25 book images are probably what's causing this overlay screen 4-5 seconds to display. Can we reduce the number of previous books to 10 or 15 (or user configurable)?
b) It is very difficult to tell the previous books with these tiny book cover images. Can we have book names displayed instead of or in addition to the cover images?
c) When using split screen, if one of the split panes is blank, tapping on that half of the screen will display the Library selection screen instead of the band of recently used book images. That's one of the times when it would be most handy to have the list of recent books. Can you change the behavior so that for a blank split pane, it goes into the same top and bottom overlay screen with the previous books band? If the user wants to access the full Library list, they can always tap on Library from the overlay screen.
2) When in Reading view, can you please give us the option to display the iPad's top band (with the clock, signal, battery strength, etc)? When one is absorbed in reading, it's easy to lose track of time (e.g. on a train). To display the current time, one would have to tap the middle of the screen and wait 4-5 seconds for the overlay screen to come up, then tap somewhere to dismiss it (taking care not to accidentally tap on a link). Just a minor annoyance that occurs frequently (for me at least).
Thanks,
Peter
