Still in the Dowload Cycle

Since yesterday, I am in a constant state of download. First I receive 3.3mb, receive the message resources are ready to install. I restart Logos. Logos begins to index, then I receive 256k and start the process again. This has gone on all day and started again this morning. Either I have a great number of resources that are coming over from Logos to replace my v.3 with v.4 or there is a bug. I have about 5300 resources in the Logos library.

There have been other posts about this. RC1 and then RC2 where released one after the other. Along with these over 9000 resources were loaded into the mechanism that downloads to Logos 4. For many of us, including me, loading RC1 required several restarts (about 5, if I remember right), then RC2 came with a new engine and a few more resources.

This sounds like typical behavior for this week.

Hey Richard,

I appreciate you quick response to this both yesterday and today. How big is your library? I merely ask because I would be very happy with 5 or 6 restarts. I am having this behavior on two computers so I know it is not an issue with my computer. If this is normal behavior right now, it would be great to get un update from Bradley or someone else at Logos so that none of us are speculating. It would also be great if I could receive the updated resources in larger chunks rather than these tiny pieces. Thanks.

Hey Mark,

It's good to know I am not alone! I have been in it for a long time too. It is hard because I cannot use L4 at all because it keeps restarting. I have an update about 3x/minute! I had to turn of automatic downloading so that i can work. When I get home I guess I will keep the cycle going...hopefully it will end soon!

Sorry Mark, just came back from a Pastors Prayer brunch (it was great!).

I have just over 2000 resources in my L4 library (I assume the hidden resources are excluded from that number).

You may have better success with updating one computer at a time, since the computers will also sync with each other (which I assume means downloading and possibly restarting). So fully update one, then start (well finish now) with the other.

Interesting sidenote. My computer updated to RC3. Still cycling. Received a Vista update from Microsoft. Shut off computer. Started up computer and the cycling has stopped. Hmmmm - no clue what happened.
