Logos 4 and New iPad Question
I am thinking of purchasing a new iPad and want to be sure that I can use Logo4 on it as well. I assume that not all my resources will be available to me, and that is fine if I can use a few, i.e. Bible, Concordance, the essentials for some study. Do I have to have an internet connection to use these resources, while, say using it at work? I have alot of down time most nights that would allow me to read and do some study. Due to network security we are not allowed to access WiFi or the network to be able to use our T1. This would be a great tool as we are still using WindowsXP with SP2 so I can't install Logos4 on our PC. Thanks for the advice or comments on iPad utilization.

You are able to load some of your resources locally onto your iPad. For local resources you don't need to be online in order to use them.

If have purchased a Logos 4 base package, have option to download Logos resources to iPad for offline use (do need network connection for download).
Most resources in your Logos library are available for iPad use (including offline). http://biblia.com has same Logos resource list (can read in a browser).

On the Logos.com website, there is an icon associated with all resources that you'll be able to read on your iPad. Also, you can search for resources that are available on iPad: http://www.logos.com/products/search?Platform=Internet
If you want to see what you currently own that is available for iPad, follow Smile's advice and go to biblia.com and sign in. Everything available to you there will be available on your iPad.
You will be able to download any and all of those resources to your iPad for offline use. Be aware that some features are disabled for offline use, most importantly search. However search will soon be available for offline use.
You will be able to use iPad as a reader for up to two books at a time in split screen mode. The iPad app automatically places your content in columns as well to make it more readable. I use the iPad and iPod daily to read. It is very nice.
The Logos iPad app currently does not support highlighting or notes. They are working to develop notetaking and highlighting capability as well.

The one thing that makes me concerned about purchasing an iPad 2 (or 1 for that matter) is Apple's new App requirements that are going to go in effect in June. I don't see how Logos and many other companies can continue to offer iOS Apps if Apple is going to force them to offer any books, music, subscriptions, etc. at the iTunes store at THE SAME price that they offer their own web site and then give Apple a 30% cut!
Has anyone heard an official word from Logos whether or not they will pull their App if Apple doesn't back down? Logos is the one and only reason I would purchase an iPad. It seems the safest thing to do is wait until July and see what happens.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I may just look for a used or refurbished MacBook as well, but I will check out the information provided by everyone here.

Apple may be able to make them pull the app, but I do not believe that this will affect logos, however, if you already have the app, they can not make you take it off. and as long as it is on your device, it will still work.

Same here: I only bought an iPhone so that I can have Logos on it.

This is true. However, it means that Logos cannot improve the app any more. And who knows, Apple might not ensure backward compatibility in one of their future iOS updates.Armin

I'm not sure, but wouldn't the new requirements not apply since Logos is not selling content primarily for iOS? That is, Logos could always pull the ability to in app purchase and not run afoul of Apple. Kind of like the NY Times, which will sell its content separate and apart from iPhone or iPad, but it allows access (via web login or in app login). Logos is in that sense not unlike a newspaper or magazine.

Concerning for me too. I wonder if it matters that Logos doesn't offer their books for sale in-app.

Jacob, that has been my point all along. No book sales, no problem.
