Nave's Topical Bible

I was using Naves Topical Bible for the first time in Logos. In the information panel there is described some features of the resource. Does this text describe something beyond just the standard logos integration. I'm not sure what it is pointing out
Combined with Logos Bible software, Nave's becomes more useful than ever. With Logos Bible Software you can even use the Nave's topic as a search parameter. For example, search for the word "love" within the verses associated with the Nave's topic "marriage." Copy search results to topic lists and your word processor

Hi Larry
Not sure exactly what was meant but the example shown does show something quite useful and powerful.
Walking through the steps:
Find the section in Nave's on marriage and select the text:
Create a Passage List and add the references from the Marriage section into it - using the "Add Selected Text" option (see http://wiki.logos.com/Passage_List for details on Passage Lists if you aren't familiar with them)
Then do a Bible Search on the Passage List for "love" and you get the results:
Using the Print / Export feature (not sure of current status on Mac) you can then export the results to a word processor.
So, in some senses, just the standard Logos integration but a very powerful example of its use.
(I think the topic lists reference is to Libronix v3)
Hope this helps
Graham

Graham,
Thanks for helping me on this. I now have another skill, a two level search. That is very cool.
It is a little different in the Mac Version but no big deal. Thanks for the handy tip and screen shots.

Good to hear that was useful.

I am intrigued by this. I want to try it now myself. [:D] That said, I am curious about what its purpose is? Is it in order to see the listed scripture references from the Naves article with the full text and not just the reference?

Hi Aaron
Creating the Passage List from the selected text in the Naves article does allow you to see the full text (in the translation of your choice).
The subsequent search for "love" against the Passage List allows you to find those references in the Nave article on marriage which also contain the word "love".
Hope this makes sense, please come back if it doesn't.

Thanks Graham,
Ahhh....yes I missed that step! Of course, the point of performing the search is to narrow it to the references referring to love......within the 'container' of marriage!
Simply brilliant!
