A few more I would like to see in my Logos Library

Titles that I would really like to see:

1. Paul and Palestinian Judaism: A Comparison of Patterns of Religion

2. Elect in the Son (Robert Shank)

3. Life in the Son (Robert Shank)

Then, the entire series from Bill Mills and related authors (Leadership Resources)

(example titles: Adequate, Pursuing God, Finishing Well, Changed, A Quiet Heart, and many more)

The priority would be 2, 3, 1, then the series.

Thanks...

Tomas

[Y] Dittos on the Robert Shank books. [Y]

I was just thinking about those 2 books being in Logos yesterday.

That one is already in prepub, supposed to ship in a couple of days: http://www.logos.com/product/6290/fortress-press-paul-collection#001. You'd have to buy the whole collection, though, or wait for them to break it up.

Which reminds me of a question I've had for quite a time now: Selling some titles only as part of a collection - is that Logos' policy or is it the original publisher's? If electronic publishing is meant to succeed, there has to be a rethinking of this policy. I just can't afford buying a collection for a (couple of) hundred bucks when I'm only interested in one specific title worth a small percentage of that amount.

I have no idea, but I suspect it's sometimes the publisher, sometimes Logos wanting cash, and sometimes simply a strategy to get things published. Think of a commentary series: how many do you think would pay for a whole book on Philemon? Some volumes would reach 100% in a day, some volumes would be gathering interest for a decade or more. Which means they wouldn't have the whole series to sell. Not a good idea... It works in print, because there are so many libraries and so on that always buy the whole series, no matter what, but Logos doesn't sell licenses for libraries.

Same with many other collections: if their content was put in prepub individually, only the most popular books would ever be published. Logos would probably have maybe 1-2.000 resources to sell, instead of 10.000+. As one who tends to want books that few others here want, I'm not so sure I'd be happy about that.

Though I agree on affordability. I want Sanders, but there's no way I'm going to buy the whole collection just to get that. I guess I'll just have to wait, or get it from the library. In any case, since I don't really have the time to read it anyway, their not offering it separately is actually saving me money.

Makes sense. Not that it makes me happy, though ... I guess as long as electronic publishing is tied up to proprietary file formats, this won't change. [:(]
