iPad and Libronix 3 and/or Logos 4
I found an iPad app that will allow you to use Libronix 3 or Logos 4 and read any of your books.
Here is a quick video about it.

I have Logos 3.0 and have no plans to upgrade to 4.0. Is there really a way for me to read my 3.0 resources on the iPhone/iPad?

Go to www.biblia.com and sign in with your logos account, however, you will only have your books and no search capabilities.

I know some people use Logmein or some comparable app to remote into a computer that's running Logos or Libronix.

Thanks Pastor Kelly. I might be able to live without search, but does this mean I need internet connection to read any of my books after I've install the iPad app?

You need an L4 base package or the minimal crossgrade to be able to access your Logos Library on the iPad app. Books can be downloaded for offline reading however, to search or use the guides you need an internet connection.

Thanks for your response. Bottom-line, I need to upgrade to L4. [:(]

Keep in mind most of the resources you gain in the upgrade to L4 can be used in Libronix. There are scripts that you can run to download them if you don't like L4 or your computer can't handle it.

Frankly I can't afford the upgrade right now so I have not keep up with what it means to upgrade. I might be able to do a minimal L4 upgrade so I don't think I will gaining any additional resources.
However, could you tell me if I do the minimal L4 upgrade will all my Libronix (3.0) books still be accessible in L4?

You might be interested in http://www.logos.com/4ways
Options 1-3 will get you book access via the iOs app. If you choose to download the free engine you will be able to access your L3 books just fine in L4, there will be some features that won't work to their full potential because they were designed to work with the data you get with the minimal crossgrade or an L4 base package.

Thank you very much for your help Kevin.

to use Biblia.com you need an internet connection... to use any of the other options like log me in, you would also need internet.

in order to use the logos ipad app, yes you would need to have L4, but to use biblia.com, that is not needed... nor is it needed to use log me in or some of the other remote access programs as you are accessing your desktop and not logos 4.

Appreciate the response gentlemen! I've sinked in thousands of dollars over the past decade into Logos/Libronix but like many have been reluctant to sink in another chunk of cash to upgrade to Logos 4 (BTW, where did the "Libronix" name go to?), so I've purchased a few books here and there, but I did finally get an iPad 1 45% off (frugality has reduced my "early adopter" rank to 2nd-tier adopter) and was anxious to see what interface/products Logos had for this. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I initally saw I needed L4 to utilize my resources. At least I see some options here, so thanks again!
PS- I wish Logos would give more "allowance" to loyal customers whom have already spent big $$ over the years!!

Kevin (or anyone out there)-
Wanted to clarify- will ALL of my books be accessible if I purchase the minimal upgrade (or just the specific books listed at http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade. I've purchased many book packages from other vendors that works with L3 (e.g. Concordia or Nelson books). Is there a way of transfering the books onto my iPad's hard-drive?

Jeff,
The iOS app is fundamentally different than Libronix or L4.
On your computer you save all your books to your hard drive and your computer powers the searches and all the other features.
The iOS app accesses books stored on Logos' servers. All searches, guides and other similar functions are performed on Logos' end and delivered through your internet connection to the app. Books can be stored for off-line reading. This paradigm shift means that your entire library is not available on the iOS app. Because of the way that old contracts were written Logos had to go back to the publishers to get permission to deliver books this way.
The books you see listed in the minimal crossgrade will be available in L4, more books will be available in the iOS app. If you are curious which ones show up in the app check out http://www.logos.com/products/search?Platform=Internet

Understood. I browsed some and when I list 60 "items" per page, there are 74 pages, so looks like Logos has already negotiated a great deal of them with publishers.
In Libronix (or Logos 3.0g- the version I have), I sync my licenses with Logo's servers under "Tools > Account Managment". I assume the licenses I purchased from other publishers (e.g. Baker, Nelson, Concordia, etc.) are synced with the Logos servers? If so, am I correct to assume that any books (that Logos has gotten permission from publishers to do this with) that I have synced will be available to me- even if I purchased the books from another publisher? One other clarification- If appears I will need to purchase the "minimal crossgrade" option to get the iPad access to my books- not just the engine only (this is only for the PC and not iPad access- correct?)?

Ammended comment: I just downloaded the iPad app and I didnt' purchase the L4 crossgrade yet and it appears (so far) all of my resources are available online with the option of making them available offline (through the "Available offline" button when I click on the resource). I apparently spoke too soon when I commented about wishing the resources I already had purchased were available on my iPad- it seems they are. Still- maybe I need to purchase the minimal upgrade for the search features? (I haven't experimented that far yet).

As long as Logos has the permission to use a book on the internet platforms (iOS, Biblia.com) it doesn't matter whether you've purchased from a third party or directly from Logos. I just checked and I have items that I didn't purchase directly from Logos available on Biblia.com.
Jeff, I'm surprised that you didn't have to purchase the minimal crossgrade to get access to these books on your iPad, as that's what the material on Logos' website says is needed and that's what's been reported by others on this forum.
EDIT: Jeff, I'm not sure if you know this or not, it's unclear from the way I'm reading your post. You can use L4 without purchasing the minimal crossgrade it will just have features that won't work because it needs the new resources you get in the minimal crossgrade or a L4 base package. If you know this sorry for repeating it.

Deleted.... I missed that guideline....
All books are accessable so far (I am going through my library randomly and I've not found one that hasn't been available to me yet. You can click the "i" icon and then make them available off-line. There are limited capabilities, however (such as can't highlight and select text to place in a word processor) so I'm guessing this may have something to do my not having L4?

No, the ability to highlight and copy n' paste are not yet available in the app.

OK, so what I'm getting from this is that my LDLS 3.0G library will not be available on my iPad, even though I've purchased L4, because they weren't purchased through logos.com?

Welcome [:D]
If install Logos application on iPad, then login with you Logos.com account (with internet connection), wonder if library on iPad includes resources in Libronix 3.0g library ?
Some resources are not available for iPad use due to publisher agreement restrictions. The iPad resources are similar to http://Biblia.com (more than 50 resources to open when logged in with Logos.com account).
Keep Smiling [:)]

If you have purchased a L4 base package all of your previous LDLS resources will be available provided that publishers have given permission for internet/app use. Even when you purchased resources from places other than Logos the licenses were still backed up to Logos' servers (unless you stopped the program from synchronizing licenses.)

No, Libronix does the license sync manually (if there's a way to get that to work automatically, perhaps on a schedule, please share). Does Libronix sync against it's own servers or does it sync against Logos servers? When I "Import all" to L4, my LDLS3 library was imported. After I synced again shouldn't all of my licenses have been on a Logos server and then made available on my iPad? If, of course the author or publisher has given Logos the OK to do so.
So, I should contact the author and tell them to please, please, please call Logos and authorize iPad reading of their content?

Nope, it's manual and I never saw a script to make it otherwise.Does Libronix sync against it's own servers or does it sync against Logos servers?
L3 will sync with the Logos servers. After I synced again shouldn't all of my licenses have been on a Logos server and then made available on my iPad? If, of course the author or publisher has given Logos the OK to do so.
That is my understanding of it - it's the publisher's permission that is the real contingency here. So, I should contact the author and tell them to please, please, please call Logos and authorize iPad reading of their content?
That's a mixed bag. Logos is actively renegotiating those contracts still today, which is why new books periodically pop up as available on ipad and biblia.com. It is possible that you calling them and asking could (A) accomplish nothing (B) hurry them along in negotiations or (C) somehow cause a setback in negotiations.Chances are it wouldn't do much unless you specifically got to the same head of department that was sitting down to discussions with Logos.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Brock, it sounds like all your licenses are in the system/on Logos' servers.
Authors usually have very little control over the distribution of their work. The digital rights permissions are typically handled by publishers so they are the ones to contact to request that they authorize books to be available on the iOS/internet platform.
EDIT: Looks like Thomas beat me to it. But he's right us pounding down the doors to request publishers give permission could backfire. This is because most content owners like the idea of being able to sell us content multiple times and view a "buy once use anywhere" model with great suspicion. If they think we are willing to spend more money to get books mobile then they might delay or refuse permission to Logos.
