As the title says...i finally got done with my brick that masquerades as a phone and bought an Android...now I'm wishing that Logos gets a version going for this little marvel!

That's the one thing that would complete my nirvana (along with all the amazing apps!)

Congrates! I still have a year before I can star thinking of upgrading. Hope logos gets that app live for you soon.

Finances and Logos have converged to keep me held off on the android for now.  I'm 99% certain that Android will be my next one though.  I'm actively waiting for when Logos releases their app so I can bite the bullet and upgrade.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

IMHO that's the only way to fly Robert.

So what did you get?  I'm staring at the Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate) and the new ATRIX.

I bet deep down Logos is to blame for this purchase. If they had satisfied your Beta needs earlier you would not have needed to seek out a new toy. Hopefully they will release the Beta to us tomorrow to prevent more of our dear brothers from falling.

Do you think it's time for me to retire my soup cans connected by string?  [:O]

    Hey Thomas,

I have the Verizon counterpart to the Samsung Captivate. Samsung and Verizon aside it is a great phone. What I mean by that is Samsung is very poor in keeping the American versions of their phones up to date. However Samsung is also the easiest of the Android phones for Developers to "freelance" with because they are not locked like Fort Knox as some other manufacturers.

The Galaxy S series has great hardware and the best screen with the Super Amoled that I've seen. What really has made the phone incredible is the ability to get it updated with the developers over at XDA forums. Makes the phone even better.

I think this is why waiting on the Logos Android App is so frustrating right now for me. Great phone, awesome screen and no Logos. I have a couple other Bible/Study apps but they are not Logos. I'd recommend the Galaxy S series but take a look at the XDA forums there is a Captivate section that will give you some great information on what's available for it and insight on how it may run a Logos App hardware wise.

I think people would just like some communication. Right now, it seems like nobody knows if the android app is going to be released tomorrow, next year, or if the project is canceled. Nobody seems to have the slightest idea of any sort of range of what "coming soon" means.

It isn't canceled.  :-)  I say that not because I've seen it, but because Logos said they would develop it and are actively doing so.

The only reason Logos announced that they were building an Android app is because so many people were begging for it - so they said, "Ok we're building one."  Now they keep hearing "how long?"  I'd wager two things.

    1.  They don't know how long because there is more to it than scripting a display.

    2.  The completion of Logos for Android (LFA?)  is contingent upon the behind the scenes rebuilding of the display engine that is being done for both Biblia and Ipad/Iphone.    That display engine rewrite will apparently enable more things like highlighting.  So until that backend is built, the LFA app won't be complete.

For all we know it could be sitting on the shelf complete and waiting for the server to be finished.

    We'll get there.

Yup.  Jesus said the same thing, and I'm more jazzed about that event than I am about LFA.
