Logos 4 FAQs

Thank you for your helpful pointers. I have one question that I cannot seem to find the answer. When copying citations from Logos and pasting them to Microsoft Word 10, I no longer get the citations numbered as in Logos 3. I can copy the reference, but they are not formatted as before. Am I doing something wrong or is this how things are done in Logos 4? Thanks!

Hi Ivan
http://community.logos.com/forums/p/23008/171479.aspx talks about this - it looks like a "known problem" which is present in the current general release but fixed in the new version which is at the Release Candidate stage.
Hope this helps

Thanks very much Graham. It is good to know that it isn't me unable to understand something. I trust this will be fixed then. I will look at the forum comment you forwarded. God Bless you for your quick response! Ivan

I'm gettng increasingly disturbed ... I started off with a simple desire to print notes. (For some reason the first 2 or 3, down to a blue dashed line that I cannot remve, print ... and the rest of the items in the file don't [*-)] ... so I searched the forums ... couldn't find any help ... just a mass of threads that revealed that printing wasn't even supported at all until recently. I've got 4.2 on Vista ... so that's OK. but then I thought I'd try the FAQ's ... and when I go to the link I see the support options, but no FAQ's ... am I going nuts?

There was a temporary problem with the web site. Please try it again.
If you have further questions, please start a new thread rather than post here.

The support site is currently messed up...it just happened within the last hour.

Ian - your description of what you are trying to do and the mention of a blue dashed line makes me think you are working with "handouts" as opposed to "notes".
Just wanted to check that. As Mark suggested, if you have specific questions it would be best in a new thread.

Chris,
I have the same concern as Edi, in that I am pretty much satisfied from the resources I own from L3... the difference is, I purchased the Crossgrade
... on the screen where you have the option to purchase it, #3 note says: "Please note that you will need to own the corresponding English Bibles for the following interlinears to work. These Bibles are not included in the Minimal Crossgrade: New Living Translation, Authorized English Version (1873), English Standard Version, New King James Version, New Revised Standard Version.... blah, blah, blah...
I had several of these bibles already ... it only took 21 hours for L4 to load :0( only to find out I did NOT receive ANY the reverse interlinears!!!
Will I have to fish through the ftp://ftp.logos.com/LbxBooks/ as I did when I had to locate missing resources from L3 or is there an easier way?
Thank You,

Hi Courtier
It may be worth starting a new thread as opposed to posting here (I couldn't find references to Chris and Edi to understand the context of your comments)
Just one quick point. Reverse Interlinears don't show as separate resources in L4 but are accessed from the English Bibles using one of the RI buttons at the top of RI-enabled resources. See http://wiki.logos.com/Reverse-Interlinear$2fInterlinear__Bibles for information to find out which you have and how to access them.
Please check this and advise whether this works. If not, it is probably worth starting a new thread on this.

Has there been any announcement on the release of the Dead Sea Scroll Data Base? I pre-ordered it and am anxious to see its format.

According to http://www.logos.com/product/5961/qumran-biblical-dead-sea-scrolls-database it should ship on 23 Feb (next Wednesday).
I believe it was due to ship today so there has been a slip - and it may slip again.

I'm not in "the know" but I can imagine a delay in shipping one
resource could very well create a temporary traffic jam delaying
subsequent projects. Although Logos has been adding more staff recently,
there will always be a finite number and limited capability to what
they can accomplish. In the past few days another Pre-Pub hit a speed bump snafu right before shipping:
The World of the Aramaeans (3 vols.) needed a little last minute tweaking. Depending on what that issue was, it may have necessitated double-checking the other Pre-Pubs for the same issue.

The website team are working on integrating academic sales into the website, but it's not possible yet. When you try you get a message that says it's "Coming soon" (but it's been saying that for several weeks!).
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

That needs to be translated into English. "Soon" (as in "soon and very soon, we are going to see the Lord") has eschatological connotations. It is already and not yet. It could be tomorrow, but it could still be a long way off.

Now, that gave me the best laugh all week, I believe! [:D] I think you really hit the nail on the head with that translation! Unfortunately, "a long way off" always seems to be the likelier option, and "tomorrow" probably requires a direct intervention by God.
