I just bought an ipad and can't find out how to place on the screen multiple books. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

Assuming that you are in portrait mode, drag the little grey quadrant arrow in the bottom corner of your screen upwards. (if you're in landscape mode then drag the little quadrant arrow from right to left.) This opens a new text box.

Then using your library (tap lower bit of screen to reveal icon bar) select the resource that you want to open – and there you are! The new resource opens in the bottom part of the screen. Rotate to landscape and you have them side by side.

    Every blessing,

Thank you both for the question and the answer.  I had no idea I was able to link and view two books like that using this app.

    Alan,

Thanks for the special help. Somehow I missed this and you made it simple. God's great blessings to you.

  • Alan, maybe you can also help with another question. Tapping the screen on an open resource opens some controls and a ribbon on which are displayed all the books I've opened. That list (ribbon) gets longer and longer as I open other books. Eventually is useless as a tool for opening one of those books again. Is ther any way of removing book icons from that ribbon, or even clearing it altogether?

    Welcome [:D]

Logos ribbon list shows covers of recently opened resources (most recent on far left).  To clear altogether, could logout and back in, but logging out also loses all resources downloaded for offline use.  Also do not have a way to remove individual icons (automatically populated by Logos reflecting your most recent choices).  Dreaming of docked icons for frequent use.

They're all displayed but displayed in the order of most recent first which I kinda like.  I've gotten around the issue you're having by adding certain resources to my favorites list so they're easily and quickly accessible.

  • Rick, I tapped the favorites button, thought I would add a resource there. There was one already there which I did not want to have there, so I removed it. But now I can not seem to add anything else to the list.

Swipe your finger upwards on the resource that you'd like to add to your favorites.  That should bring up a popup menu.  In certain resources there are more options but there should always be the option to add the highlighted resource to your favorites.

Appears adding to Favorites requires a network connection.

Ah, I didn't realize that.  Good to know, thanks.

  • Looks like Logos was watching!? I received a notification for updates, which I accepted. After it was installed the Logos interface was changed. The ribbon displaying recent opened resources has disappeared! I found that when I tapped the Library icon, the bar at the top of the window opened has two buttons, "Library" and "Recent Books". Tapping the latter brings up a list containing the same books that were on the ribbon bar before. However, when I opened another book, then closed it, that book was added to the list, but not at the top of the list. I opened some more and they seemed to be being added nilly-willy to the list in no particular order.

Another interface change: my ESV Bible displayed in two columns before, now only one. I'm clueless as to how or why it has changed, or how to recover the two column format.

Thanks for this note - was missing the ribbon! But the new method is much better ... thanks for pointing it out!  Now for highlighting and prayer lists!

Yes, I also noticed that and that is the biggest drawback to Logos iPad version- you can't add bookmarks (or "favorites") when off-line. Most of us have WiFi-only versions and if like me- read the books off-line. It appears the folks at Logos have done a great job enabling off-line mode to many books (and I've got literally hundreds) but it is a real bummer when you can't update your bookmark while off-line. OliveTree makes this available and I know Logos will eventually, but I wish they'd enable this acapability sooner rather than later if possible!!
