Wanted: "Syntax Search"

Before upgrading to "Platino Bilingüe" appeared the following search options: Basic Bible Syntax Morph

But now, only:

Syntax Search it´s gone!!!

I reinstalled L4 and nothing!
Changed to the default settings and nothing!
I installed L4 in Windows 7, XP and nothing!
I called Logos technical support and nothing!
In Mac OS it´s missing too.

In the Spanish forum, we have not found an answer. Can you help me?

From Logos Bible Software 4 Minimal Crossgrade (Downloaded, not DVD)

How did you upgrade?
I bought the upgrade and L4 automatically downloaded the new resources.

What is your version of L4?
   Mac OS: 4.2a SR-3 (4.21.5.0945)
   Win XP: 4.2a SR-3 (4.21.5.0932)
   (I tried installing the latest beta version but nothing!!! [:S])

What Syntax resources do you have in Library?
   - The Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament
   - Andersen-Forbes Syntax Resources (like The Andersen–Forbes Analyzed Text of the Hebrew Bible, The Andersen–Forbes Phrase Marker Analysis of the Hebrew Bible)
   - etc.

Puzzling, does have couple Logos resources needed for Syntax Search.

Logos package comparison chart shows Syntax Search feature for Original Languages and Higher packages.

Syntax Search resources included in Original Languages package:

* The Andersen–Forbes Analyzed Text of the Hebrew Bible

* The Andersen–Forbes Phrase Marker Analysis of the Hebrew Bible

* The Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament

* The OpenText.org Syntactically Analyzed Greek New Testament

Scholar's Silver and above packages include "Cascadia Syntax Graphs of the New Testament"

What is your version of L4?

Wondering if Diagnostic Logging files have any interesting lines ? (e.g. open Logos 4, open Search, close, compress & post)

I have several warnings. [:S]

After opening the search shows many similar lines:

In your Resource folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Configuración local\Datos de programa\Logos4\Data\gbcigho4.5qd\ResourceManager\Resources) what filesdo you have with suffix .lbssyn eg. SyntacticGNT.lbssyn?

Try update resources (Spanish will be different) in the Command box and report the result.

I have only one .lbssyn file: AndersenForbesHebrewOT.lbssyn

I updated resources, but nothing!

"No Updates Available" - "No updates were found" say´s L4. [:(]

Syntax Search it´s gone!!!

Syntax Search requires the "Syntax Tools addin" license to be owned. This license is in Scholar's Library (and above, OC editions or later). I checked your account and couldn't find any indication that you owned one of these collections.

Buying an upgrade or crossgrade on logos.com doesn't remove any of your licenses, so adding Minimal Crossgrade (which doesn't contain Syntax Search--you would need a "real" crossgrade to KF for that) should not have affected anything.

Have you done anything else to change your licenses, such as selling/transferring a collection, changing your email address, asked CS to merge accounts, ... ?

Is it possible you were running a much older version of Logos 4 before you upgraded, or have you been running 4.2 or 4.2a for a while already?

Ernesto, I have been following your progress or lack of progress on the Syntax issue.

I found the following links to previous versions of Logos. http://wiki.logos.com/Contents_of_Discontinued_Base_Packages

Logos 3.0 Scholar’s Library http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_3.0_Scholar's_Library

This version of Logos 3 does have your syntax listed as one of the NEW features.

However if it was a Scholars Library before version 3.0, the syntax addin was not included.

Which version of Scholars do you have?

Just trying to help sort out the here it is here its not problem.[:D]

But it's funny, I used the syntax search until I upgraded.[^o)]

I think it will need to upgrade to a new Scholar´s Library. But I'll have to wait. Last Friday I upgraded to "Platino Bilingue". [:^)]

You might try in libronix, going to the unlock resources addins section and see.[^o)]

I tried to start the process on my computer, but stoped it because it could no give me a price, but it might be worth it. Then again it my be better to wait until you update the English Scholars Package.

I still can't figure out why the Syntax Search stopped working when you upgraded, but since you do own the A-F Hebrew Syntax database, I've unlocked the Syntax Tools addin for you so you can search it again. (If you ever buy a KF English base package or crossgrade, you'll also get access to Cacadia, Lexham, and OpenText.org Greek syntactical databases.)
