BUG: 4.3 Beta 1: Justification doesn't apply to block quotes

Member Posts: 26,194 ✭✭✭✭✭

Turn on "Justify Resource Text" option.

Open any resource that has some block quotes in it. The resource is justified, but the block quotes in it are not:

Expect: Justification to apply to block quotes within justified text, as it would in any justified print book.

This is due to the way the resource is built. If an indented paragraph has only a left-aligned style attached to it, it won't be justified (similar to a heading). I can submit a request to rebuild the book to change or add to the style for that paragraph and similar ones.

It shouldn't require rebuilding the resource. Resource paragraphs don't look justified when the global justification setting is turned off, but when you turn on justification it overrides the style of the paragraphs and justifies it all. So couldn't the global justify setting override the style of all block quotes in resources? It would be a huge job to go rebuild all the resources that have block quotes in them to make them all justified, and that isn't what one would want anyway. The global justify setting is something you can turn on/off. I'm just saying that it should apply to block quotes as well.

Since the indented paragraphs that aren't being justified have the same style as other text that we don't want to justify, such as headings, a global override won't work. It may be that not every book with similar indented paragraphs will have the same tags, though, and some will be justified with that setting enabled.
