Reinstalling Logos 4 on a new computer

I had Logos 4 on My computer and on my laptop. I bought a new laptop and want to install Logos 4 on it but can't find the DVD that I got when I first upgraded. Is there any way I can transfer it all over, including all resources, from my old laptop to my new one.

Easy as pie! Well sort of.

head over to logos.com/4ways and look at the bottom of the page for the link to the "engine". That is Logos installer.

Download that installer and run it, once it completes you merely sign in with your username and password and Logos will fetch your licenses and begin downloading your books (ALL of them.) :-)

Fred, since you like Method 2, can I ask you what the following means:

Open some resources. If you get the message “You own this resource, but ... it’s not in your library”:-
enter scan <path to backup resources> in the Command box

restart L4
it will take a few minutes to discover your resources

Note - the default installation path is:
  XP -> C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4
  Vista/Win7 -> C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4
  (substitute your actual username for username)

<path to backup resources> -> see Method 3, Step 1

Is the default installation the path that I use to enter in the scan<path to backup resources>

or is the <path to backup resources> something else? I run Windows XP. I hope this makes sense.

No, the path to the backup resources would be whatever folder you put the resources from the original Logos installation in. So if you put all the files on an external hard drive, E: and in a folder LogosBackup the command would be

scan E:\\LogosBackup

Thanks, Kevin. What confused me was the wording of the instructions which included "the default installation path" and also the reference to "see Method 3, Step 1." I'm good to go, now. [:D]

method 2 worked easily for me, who am not an IT specialist! I'd even ordered the latest installation disk, just in case, but didn't need it [:D]
