Using MacBook Pro (17in), Logos, and a Projector for bible study?

Does
anyone have any suggestion regarding achieving the best results when Using
MacBook Pro (17in), Logos, and a Projector for bible study. I am having trouble
with what seems to be a small workspace proportion, and little contrast when
using shades of colors for highlighting text.

Apologies, wondering if "small workspace proportion" refers to many projectors having smaller resolution than MacBook Pro (17in) internal screen.

Edit: NewEgg.com has a 1080p HDTV projector whose screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 for $899 => http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009286 the native MacBook Pro 17in screen resolution is 1920 x 1200 so workspace width would be maintained, but height bit shorter. Looks like projector has 2 brightness modes: using less intense 1600 Lumens mode allows bulb to last for 1,500 more hours. By the way, also noticed a business projector with 1920 x 1200 resolution for $ 4,999.95 (more expensive than Mac Book Pro).

Suspect computer is mirroring screens so internal screen resolution is changed to match projector.

Looking at Newegg.com a bit more noticed a ViewSonic 1080P HDTV projector with longer bulb life for $ 40 more => http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116466

The thing with projectors is they often have bright bulbs (measured in Lumens) but terrible contrast ratio (something like 2000:1). We have some nice bright projectors in our sanctuary but their contrast is abyssmal. I have a Dell projector of my own that is not as bright but the contrast is much better. Brightness is important for settings with a lot of ambient light. Contrast is better for what you are talking about. And getting a projector with both means not buying the one at your local office/electronics store. You will likely spend thousands of dollars. So your options are ...

1. bright with low contrast

2. higher contrast but not as bright

3. pay more money and get both

And the only really good way to judge is to either read good reviews or try it out. Getting an installer to bring one and set it up for you in your setting is a good way to try it out. You will likely have to pay more from this middle man, but it may be worth it in the long run since he will likely let you try it out without paying first.

After reading contrast post, looked again at NewEgg, noticed Acer 7530D and 7531D 1080p HD TV projectors have 40000:1 contrast (better than 4000:1 for ViewSonic PRO8200 HD). Reading NewEgg reviews, doubt was raised about claimed 40000:1 contrast (yet good for entry level Home Theater).

I would be suspicious. The manufacturers make up their own standards and then report them. Again, the only valid way of judging is with your own eyes. Alternatively read good reviews, and be careful on those.
