SUGGESTION: Jürgen Moltmann (in honor of his 85th birthday)

There's so many titles by Jürgen Moltmann I'd like to have and that should really be in Logos for everyone trying to do serious dogmatic studies in dialog with contemporary theological thinking, but if there was only room for one it had to be

Theology of Hope: On the Ground and the Implications of a Christian Eschatology, SCM Press, London, 1967,

of course!

Dear Logos: Have you ever tried to make an arrangement with the publisher on this one? If not: It is E-S-S-E-N-T-I-A-L !!!

By the way: Today is Jürgen Moltmann's 85th birthday! How could we honor this better than by trying to get in touch with his works? I'm so lucky and thankful that I've been able to get to know him personally and participate in one of his courses when he was already in his 80's. For anyone not so lucky it would be great to have his works available in Logos!

I do not know how many times Moltmann has been requested, but it is always good to remind the good folks at Logos that we would love to have his work available in the Logos format.

Thanks for answering, Tom - I almost got to think nobody's interested in Moltmann (which would be really hard to believe)! [:)]

I'd happily see 99 percent of Prepubs disappear only to have more or at least something of the most influential theologians of the 20th a 21st century in Logos like eg. Barth (there's the Church Dogmatics, but he has written some other important things as well, only think of his book(s) on Romans ...), Pannenberg (at least there's the Systematic Theology and the Anthropology), Moltmann (nothing!), Jüngel (only his book on Justification, not even "God as the Mystery of the World"!) ... [:'(]

Unfortunately, if they did remove 90% of the prepubs, the ones you and I want would be the first to go, and the ones you and I least want would be the last to remain... [:'(]

And, yes, I've been to Taizé once, my wife even lived and worked there for a year. Have you been there, too? But that ikon is also very common outside of Taizé, e.g. in a community that I visit every now and then, near to where I live here in Germany. I love this 'Christ and Abbot Mena' ikon dearly, it's one of the finest and most expressive ikons I know!

Yes, quite a lot, some decades ago. Never more than 2-3 weeks at a time, though. When was your wife there? I'm quite envious of her.

I think, in Sweden that icon has mainly been brought in from Taizé. Though I guess, by now the connection may have faded. I seem to faintly remember hearing Br Roger telling us how they got it, but I can't remember the story itself.

I believe it's been from summer 2001 on that my wife was there, right after taking German Abitur - we didn't know each other back then yet. I'll try to remember asking her whether she knows how they got it.

Now that you've mentioned being envious of my wife - I'm quite envious of you living in Sweden! I lived and studied in Norway (Oslo) for one year and also got to travel around Sweden a bit, and I just love and miss Scandinavia all the time!

Yes, it's quite nice up here, isn't it? [:)] Lots of Germans buying houses and farms here these days (and even more Dutch). Much cheaper and much less crowded.

If I had the money, I would do the same (though it would probably be in Norway, then)! But I've got plenty of time until retirement, so it's at least something I can dream of ... [:)] and, for what it's worth, it's quite beautiful around Nürnberg as well! [:)]
