Extremely Slow Bible Search

Yesterday I noticed that when I was doing a Bible search on my laptop it was agonizingly slow in the grid view. I thought that maybe the laptop had a background program using some of my resources.

Today on my desktop I notice the same thing. If you look at my search, the text comes up in random places and takes about 3 minutes to fully load (picture attached for clarification).

Both machines are fully capable of running Logos 4, the program is fully indexed and I have just noticed this yesterday.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the verses and aligned views work quickly. It is only in grid view that this happens.

Grid view has always been much slower for me. I think it's because it has to load more info from the resources to create the display--all the boxes have the pop-up verse text available.

However I did not experience the problem you have.  It finished the display in 5-10 secs when I did that search.

Are you by any chance indexing?

    Hi Todd,

Thanks for the reply. I too remember 5-10 second load times. I am just bewildered... admittedly I haven't used grid in quite a while. When I did yesterday and then today I'm scratching my head.

I know you can't give me a solution, but after I hit enter on the search for my attached picture, I had time to go into my "Start" menu, type snip and then take the screen shot. Just trying to give some generalization of the speed.

    Thanks.

I have not seen this problem here. I replicated your search and I run quite fast, less than 5 sec.

Wow! I have 6 gig or Ram on my computers and it is nowhere near that!

your image shows that L4 took only 0.6 seconds to do the search. It looks more like a video card issue in updating the screen.

I was kind of thinking the same thing but am just confused on why I am just noticing it. I must not have used grid view as much as I thought.

Thanks again to all for confirming it is probably something with my computers and not a Logos problem.

    Problem solved/work around.

Really weird but it works. [:D]

I just discovered by accident that if I left click in the area that is taking the writing is slow to come up, and drag my mouse in a downward direction (just like the arrow in my picture) the writing comes up instantly and any further Bible searches come up almost instantly. When I close and reopen Logos I have to do the left click and drag again on the first search.

EDIT: If you would like to see a very short video of what I am doing clcik here: http://www.screencast.com/t/htQgaoieIC2y

LOL... <Rick scratches head even more>

well, that does not look like a video issue. Very unusual.
