How do I do this?

I think I know the answer to this, but I will ask anyway:

I have a large resource with many highlights in it - all the same, just simple yellow like a Highlighter pen.

I would like to get a listing of all those passages. How do I do that? I can't just search of a space, or vowel, as the number of hits (and I believe results, if I remember) will be way off.

You can search for the wildcard character (*) with the yellow highlighting style selected in the All Text dropdown:

It's pretty slow, but it's the only way to do what you want to do.

You could also step through the highlights one by one using the up/down arrows on the locator bar, by first setting the next/prev dropdown to Highlight:

You could try pasting a string of common words into the search box. It is quicker than a wildcard, but may miss some hits.

about,after,again,among,and,at,because,between,but,by,either,even,every,for,from,if,in,into,it,

let,like,more,neither,nor,of,on,or,that,then,thereby,therefore,this,those,through,to,towards,

under,until,unto,versus,what,whatever,which,when,while,who,whoever,whom,whose,with,yet,a,the,he,we,I,you

Edit: you may want to use a shorter list as I don't think it will paste all of them. So perhaps a shorter list would work better. Such as

a,the,and,but,for,we,you,he,to,by,of,I,not You can always add a few more.

Thanks Rosie, for the help. I took Rosie's suggestion, and it really doesn't give me what I want, a list of the highlighted entries, and here is why -- the results returned are by Article, which in the book I am working with, that appears to be chapters. So only the first highlight in the chapter is shown, even though it "catches" all the results because it says, "3080 hits in 29 articles". Now of course the "hits" count is the number of characters highlighted, which is not helpful for anything either.

Using any list of keywords will be problematic, as it will suffer from the same problem as the wildcard '*', plus miss some text if a keyword is not present. It is faster though.

I realize there are ways to traverse through the book. But why is it so hard to get a list of highlighted text that I can do something with? I wish Logos would fix this/give us a way to do this.

Wonder about using visual filters to apply highlighting (vis directly highlighting text) ? Visual filters are based on search along with being easy to turn on or off (optionally can be used with passage list). Also can modify visual filters to choose resource(s) to highlight.

The highlighting is for text I want to remember/reuse, not based on anything I could search on - you know, like someone would use a highlighter pen with a book! And I don't think you can search on visual formatted text, much less in a way that could produce a list of text like "Give me a list of all highlighted text..."

Wiki has Finding Highlighted Text , Visual Filter and Using Passage List to limit Visual Filters (noticed potential of using passage list for topical grouping along with visual filters, which allows copy and paste for searching)
