Greek audio new testament - any opinions?

G'day guys, I know our L4 packages have the ability to hear the lemmas pronounced, but I'm after being able to read along with the text. Also, the pronunciations only seem to pronounce the lemma, not the actual word you might be studying.

Firstly, is this product http://www.logos.com/product/4207/greek-audio-new-testament what I am after?

Secondly, if anyone owns this, how good is it...it sounds brilliant from the blurb, but is the reading disjointed...or an actual "reading"? I just got worried that it works with so many different Greek texts from our libraries...maybe it's just heaps of separate pronunciations strung together.

Thank you for any advice. I like the fact that the pronunciation is Erasmian, as I am only beginning to teach myself Koine Greek, and even though there is a push for a more modern pronunciation, all the texts I'm using use the traditional Erasmian pronunciation. so I don't want to get confused.

Yes, that's the product you'd want. And yes, it is real reading. The
product description page gives you some info about the narrator, John D. Schwandt. I don't know Greek myself, so I can't vouch for the pronunciation accuracy, but the reading sounds smooth and pretty good to me.

Could you please remind me how to use this (Greek Audio NT) in L4. It has a tool-bar icon in L3 with speed controls and I usually use it there for that reason. In the meantime I have forgotten how to access it in L4.

I have a feeling that I'm going to regret asking this question as it will probably be totally obvious and simple [:)]

I have it and it reads fine in L4. It's not possible (as far as I can tell) to adjust the speed like you can in L3.

Yes, I've noticed that too. I think you were able to switch from Erasmian pronunciation to Modern pronunciation...or not...I think it's just the Greek Pronunciation Addin that does that; I'm too tired to check right now.

I have enjoyed it. i have even recorder passages from the Logos greek audio new testament for my mp3 player to listen to while walking and help me memorize some verses. It works great, and now works well in L4, which it did not do for some time.

Highly recommend it.

Ctrl+R to get it started, and then it has a toolbar with pause/stop/position controls that shows up in the upper right corner near the Layout menu. No way to control speed as far as I know:

Very good, UNLESS you need modern Greek style pronunciation, which I do, being in occasional contact with Greek Believers. Sales were very understanding about my problem and refunded me for caNCELLING MY LABORIOUSLY DOWNLOADED audio NT that I found I personally couldn't use. But my situation is an exceptional one. Normal mortals should find the Logos version excellent. It's nice the way it shows where it is in the text. Very good value IMHO
