Morphological Search for Various Forms of a Greek Word

I am interested in doing a search for all forms of the Greek word δίκαιος. I seem to be able to get most of the forms by using *dik* - but it appears that the search is sensitive to accent marks. [For example, I cannot get δίκη in the search.] I have also chosen MATCH ALL FORMS for the search. Any suggestions on how I could do such a search to include all forms [without reference to the accent marks]?

It is difficult without an "Ignore Marks" option. You can only use the various lemmas that are suggested for lemma:δίκαιο and construct a Morph Search accordingly

eg. lemma:δίκα* OR lemma:δικα* (lemma:δίκ* OR lemma:δικ* if you want δίκη).

Note: I was searching LGNTI.

I agree with you, Dave, about an "IGNORE MARKS" option. That would make such searches very meaningful. I have done what you have suggested myself.

Try a morph search for lemma:δίκ* and make sure "Match all word forms" is selected. I did that in NA27 with Logos morpholgy and got 94 results including δίκη and other forms without an accent over the iota. Is that what you are looking for? [edit: I tried it without the "Match all word forms" selected and it made no difference in the search results.]

That is interesting, Brent. I tried to do the same search [see attachment] and got 151 results but without δίκη . I'm not sure why.

With the recent release of the updated/revised Lexham Analytical Lexicon to the Greek New Testament (see: http://blog.logos.com/2011/04/revised_edition_of_the_lexham_analytical_lexicon_to_the_greek_new_testament/ for more detail) you can use the 'cognate' data in any of the *δικ* entries to get a list of all of the necessary lemmas for your query:

Add the headword (the headword isn't repeated in the cognate list) and then edit it to the following: (Even in NotePad you could find and replace ", " with " OR lemma:" to do this)

I get 332 results in 283 verses in SBLGNT. I realize this is a workaround, and a bit of a pain, but it is one way to do it now (and one reason why I wanted to get the 'cognate' data into the lexicon)

Thanks, Rick. I actually thought of trying to do this [with a wild card] after seeing the revised LALGNT. [It is an excelllent resource.] Maybe, Logos will produce an "IGNORE MARKS" search option - which would make a search like this very simple.
