Can I search within a book on the iPad?

Yes, but if you only want to search within that book alone, you must anticipate that need and make a collection of that single book on your computer first. Then give it time to sync. Later when reading the book on Ipad you can go to search, choose basic search, then tap "entire library" and a drop down will show your collections. Scroll down to it and select it and then enter your search words. I haven't actually done this, but I assume it works.
Edit: If you need this function quickly and have made the collection, I believe you can force the Ipad to sync to your computer by shutting it completely off and starting it back up.

Recently opened books are in the search list. No need to create a collection.

Thanks, guys. That does indeed work. I like being able to search through subsets of the library. However, while this method works for searching in the current book, it does feel rather heavy for that task.
Peace,
Chris

In the search window the defaut is "entire library" if you click on entire library, a window will pop up with a listing of all books in your library. Click on the book you wish to search in, and the software will only search that book.
