Bug / Performance: 4.3 Beta 2: Exceedingly slow operations with clippings

Attached log file shows a session where I booted to a blank layout, opened a clippings file, then clicked the scroll bar twice to page down in it. Opening the file took more than 30 seconds!
The second page down crossed a juncture between clippings in the file and was WAY slower than the first, also on the order of 30+ seconds. The log file does not show enough details to pinpoint the hangup in scrolling. Just a jump of 44 seconds between these two items:
2011-04-21 04:04:58.6653 1 Info ElementUtility Couldn't find default focus; focus set to first focusable item.
2011-04-21 04:05:42.3978 1 Info MainWindow OnClosing canceled; calling Exit soon.
I have a super-fast machine (NovaBench score: 1772), so this is totally incomprehensible and unacceptable.
My clippings database is attached below. The clippings file I opened is the only (non-deleted) one in there: "Early Church Fathers (ECF) Table of Contents" -- it has quite a large number of links

Thanks for the log and Clippings file. We'll look into it.

Also, in case it helps track down why I'm having this particular problem and others aren't, here's my PreferencesManager database:
