Check the speed of my new laptop
couple months back we all checked the speed of our computers and i cant remember the tool that we done it with. can someone that remembers this bering me up to speed on thils?

You're looking at specifications about five levels above what's needed to run Logos smoothly so you'll be fine.

Yes, this is the reason Logos putting their software development resources into new features and newer technologies, knowing full well a large part of the market would buy new computers in the first 1-3 years of Logos 4, was brilliant. Spending that resource on getting a next-gen product running well on 5 year old computers would have made no sense, despite the initial complaints.
In a little look at history, Microsoft, with Windows, originally built it for computers that users did not own but for a computer makret that would soon be a large share of the market. IBM built OS/2 for the existing computer market, but with less features and sophistication. You see which one won..

I'm here to rescue you from self-humiliation. My scores are pitiful in comparison but the old laptop still runs Logos at an acceptable rate. I did upgrade the drive to a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (old review here , price dropped.) I don't believe I configured the new drive properly with two OS installs but it still performs well in spite of the drive performance scores.
There now. Do you feel better? (I will salvage my self respect by saying I have much faster computers but like the size & convenience of this old friend.)

Novabench doesn't seem to see my video card on my laptop. It tests using the intel onboard gpu. Is there a way to get it to use the Radeon card?

As long as you are running (have switched to) the high performance GPU the results will reflect that (my Graphics result dropped from 160 to 32 when I switched to the power saving GPU).

It doesn't identify it correctly.

I right click on the Windows desktop and get the option Configure Switchable Grpahics.

Very nice for a laptop. In fact, simply very nice (for the time being since we all know that every one of our machines will be outdated before too long). I wish that the laptop I bought only two years ago were that fast. Now I'm selling it cheap to my daughter (even considering giving it to her as a birthday present next month) since I've already bought a new computer to keep only slightly ahead of yours. As has already been said, yours should do nicely.

But, Logos runs fine so I'm happy...that's what I have my laptop for basically....

It's all relative Robert. I purchased a new laptop about three weeks ago that posts a 484 score on Novabench. Though LOGOS 4 takes over a minute to be fully up and ready to use, it runs very smoothly and is quite snappy in its response as I switch between resources and look up Scriptures. However, my old laptop ran LOGOS 4 so poorly I uninstalled it and left Libronix 3 on it. In comparison, my home desktop score is 921 and the only difference I see in LOGOS performance between it and my new laptop is how long it takes to load. Obviously this changes when I am multitasking and the laptop falls way behind.

After couple dozen Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) in Windows 7, changed graphics processor power settings from high performance to conserve battery life (including plugged in); seems BSOD have disappeared. Novabench scores now 425 (dropped 34 after setting change) along with 5.9 for Windows 7 experience index.
Thankful for Wiki suggestions: Speeding up Logos 4 responses and Logos Running Slowly so after waiting for program startup, Logos 4 is usable for Bible Study and research.
