As I sit quietly and savor a beautiful Easter Sunday...

I reflect that this foundational day of our faith resonates more powerfully than ever for me this year. I suppose there are a number of reasons why, and prominent among them are a few that many of you may share.

• First, my Bible study is deeper and more meaningful than it's ever been, on a daily basis, due to the Logos software that I use. Yes, let's credit the Holy Spirit for interpreting and applying the Word to my life. Software is a human contrivance. Yet as I've gotten deeper and deeper into my study of the gospel of Mark these last two months, my devotional work has been enhanced by quick word studies I could or would never have done otherwise. I've been able to compare translations, make informed decisions on meanings, and benefit from the insights of multiple commentaries and Bible dictionaries. I can't believe the notes I've made, with such innovations as hyperlinks to resources and other verses within them--my own personal Bible commentary that someday my children will have, to understand what passed between their earthly and heavenly fathers.

• Second, though I don't speak up much here, I appreciate the personalities I've come to know through the forums on this site. Logos has become more of a web-based, community-enriched company over the last few years. With occasional exceptions, it delights me to see believers help each other out here, encourage each other, be patient with each other (we began a sermon series on the "one anothers" and "each others" of the New Testament today, and this site often provides illustrations of those principles), even lovingly admonish one another at times. The Spirit of God flows through broadband, just as he flows through more traditional communities. Logos people are good folk. I receive, through knowing you at a distance, a greater conception of the global church, the wonder of like-minded believers everywhere, through seeing the peace and joy many of you exhibit.

• Third, I see in Logos a company that grinds away, never resting on its laurels, always attempting to do what it does just a little bit better. I discovered the software about twelve years ago, and thought it was fairly miraculous then. I'm glad Bob and his folks have not sat still, but pressed on toward the goal of helping to bring us God's Word in new and powerful ways. This encourages me to press on in my studies, in my ministries, and in my vocation, to keep making it better, keep conforming myself to the image of Christ that is the destiny of each one of us.

He is risen indeed. The implications are so powerful, so rich, and so infinite. In Christ, all things are made new, from our lives and perspectives to the way we interface with the Word and work of God. Only He never changes. The rest of us are ever-evolving, ever learning and growing, ever tossing out old wine skins (Libronix?) in favor of new. Thanks for providing a living, corporate model of that principle, Logos community.
