Search window blues
I have asked the folks at Logos this and they told me over the phone that they don't know due to the fact that they are not computer people and do not know how to run the program. So I am now asking my fellow theologians this question. First some back ground.
Some times I enter a passage like "mathew 17" on the search line below the Logos icon and not in the command line and often all I get is a search window that gives me a bunch of stuff but not the passage I want. If I try "mathew 17:1" or any other passage I get the same search window.
WHY? and How can I stop it from doing this.....?
It feels like rolling dice to see if I will get the search window or the
actual window with all the good stuff like the guides and the passage
and the one on the right with the constantly changing info depending on
the cursor.
I become very frustrated with this program as I am not computer savvy and I am a non traditional student. I have other degrees and am with it enough to think things through but this program is so odd some times.
Also I can not find any of the videos with what it is doing. The videos all show the program working nice unlike what mine is doing.
Also I am on a 1 yr old- intel core 2duo, running windows 7, laptop with a lot of memory available ( it has 233 GB free of an 287 GB hard). For the most part it is still fast.
Some one please help me as this thing is driving me nuts.

Logos 4 is not recognizing your scripture entry
You misspelled Matthew. So when you enter a scripture reference that Logos 4 does not recognize it presumes that you want to search for your entry.
Below shows what you should see when you enter it correctly
Notice that Logos 4 will show you your verse and also headings for your preferred Bible.
As shown below you can enter Bible book abbreviations

Maybe Logos should recognize common misspellings of Bible book names. BibleGateway does (I was at the talk at BibleTech where the BibleGateway rep discussed that):
There are several dozen common misspellings of Genesis that the guy showed us on a PowerPoint slide, which they've collected from real user data over time, including Guinness! [:)]

I'm just shocked because I don't think anyone at Logos would still have a job if they answered the phone and said that!
If you got a name, don't post it here, just email the name and this information to bob@logos.com that response is unacceptable and COMPLETELY out of character for anyone at any level I've ever spoken with at Logos. I'm sure some appropriate training will follow.

i stick with the abbreviations for the most part.I am a pretty decent speller, but I still think that would be a good idea, and not only for Bible book names, since:
a) I'm less good at typing than I am at spelling.
b) I tend to instinctively enter Swedish Bible book abbreviations when I'm in my Swedish Bible, which only works with about half of the books.
c) Logos software and website presently don't even understand that perfectly normal variant spellings refer to the same word. It would simplify things if they at least knew that encyclopaedia is the same as encyclopedia, and archaeology the same as archeology.
